Funny you should mention the interview, it was on Thursday and guess what got a phone call this morning........................................................................ Morning Everyone!

How gorgeous was the weather at the weekend? Spent most of it in the garden - heaven :)

Candypops - I have same issue with Barclaycard, not a peep out of them apart from statement (which just showed missed payments and my £5 goodwill). First CCCS payment will go to them Friday/Monday so we'll see what happens!

Gabriella - WELL DONE on the job, fantastic news!! :j:j

PP - can't believe that about MBNA, we don't stand a chance do we??

Just a bit of news from me....HSBC are BACK!! Duh duh duh....!!!

This is going to be a bit vague as I didn't read the letter properly on Friday and then avoided it all weekend :o

Basically I think they're offering to replace my current loan (£8.5k) with another (£10k ish) where the payments match what CCCS are offering (well £2 less) per month. It will last 5.5 years, which is roughly what I was expecting with the DMP anyway (usless I can shave some months off).

So...I'd still be paying them interest, which isn't ideal, but then as it's seen as another loan (I need to sign paperwork and send back) it shouldn't (hopefully) effect my credit rating too much.

Any of you guys had this with HSBC? Any advice? I'm going to call the CCCS today/tomorrow.

I do need to re-read the letter properly and check the small print as there could be something I'm missing!

This seems a bit strange as you are not supposed to take out any new credit while on a DMP with CCCS. Its probably more like HSBC are trying to keep the loan with them rather than passing it on. If they have already sent the paperwork for you to sign then they have probably not put it through as a new loan but have just changed/added to the original one so it might not count as new credit. I would talk to CCCS about this, it seems like a reasonable idea if it is still within the time frame and amounts of your DMP and it would be one less angry creditor to deal with!:)

Thanks! It is a bit odd, agree they're obviously trying to keep the loan going rather then handing over to a DCA. Need to have a proper read through, speak to CCCS and then decide.

....just sounds a little to good/easy to be true! ;)

Hi VicB , glad you've been enjoying the sunshine.

Bit confused re the figures as surely it would cost more with interest?

Agree, speak to CCCS before you do anything.......

Hmmmm yes, I'm confused too (I really should have read the letter properly before posting! :o ) but it suggested replacing my current loan of £8.5k with one of £10k (I can't remember the exact figure but I think it was just over), paying £150 per month - which actually over 67 months (as quoted) is £10,050.

Does that makes sense or have I confused everything even more :o
