Hi everyone,
Hope everyone has enjoyed the sunshine today:T
Going to a fancy dress 40th birthday in church hall tonight...only prob is OH and I are not going in fancy dress:o....its an 80's theme. Sooo, walked into town today (saving petrol and parking) and went to Primark. V cheap in there, was like a kid in a sweetshop:j However reminded myself I am in there for a reason, "AB its cheap and keep to a budget" I kept telling myself and "you're in here to only get something to wear tonight!" Sooo ended up getting 2 black tops for OH and me but even though they are mens and womens they look kinda similar..Mmmmm, I thought, we could say we are the "men in black", if anyone asks tonight (I know what you're thinking, that was the 90's but if we get there late and everyone's p**&%d by then all the decades will roll into one:DDebt £22k (ish):eek:LBM April 2010DFD - work in progressPaddle no. 26"whether you think you can or you can't, your probably right"0 -

Hope the party went well Albiebabes!
Bit wobbly here...think my paddle's got the shrinks! children - and fighting their chaos, dmp went on the pay it off faster calcultor on the cccs website, so want to do it faster but how??? Looking into child care, as of sept one full time and two needing wrap around school cover and its still looking like pointless in money terms, though it'd probably do my head good! But DH has been asked to apply for another job, which is good - feel guilty about him having to take all the work stress too.
We missed an international call yesterday too - makes you wonder which one wants you and why!!!!
Doesn't sound like much does it - sorrry to moan on!
Going to try and teach dd to run, she's very left handed about it iykwim and wants to try and keep up with the others in the torture that is sports day....poor love worrying about it before its even mentioned!DMP mutual support thread member 371LBM Jan 2010DMP Paddle No 20 -
Hi Mama, sorry to read the water's turned a bit choppy today.! Childcare can be a headache to sort out and financially you can end up thinking Why??? How does DH feel about the job?
I'm with dd on the running, I was always last and my two have inherited it from me... I used to emphasise the things they were good at and tell them that running was giving others the chance to shine...!
How did the gardening go? I'd really like to do the same, one of those things I never get around to. Sounds like it worked well for you last year!
I'll put it back on my 'to do' list...
Well that's me, off to finish the ironing and get school uniforms/dinner money ready...
Hi Ted - thanks - calmed the waters for me! Ad given me a laugh with your new quote - how very true!
Well your giving the others chance to shine will be used without doubt...top mum explaination award:D Wonder if it'll work for me too - no I won't be taking part in the mum's totally determined to win race, as obviously I'd win easily and its cruel to the other mums to beat them so badly!
Veggies all planted - carrots, courgettes, onions, spring onions, broccoli, cauli, peas...know just have to defend them from the birds and remember to water them!
DH and job, is just resigned to the fact he's got to go for a promotion just for the money....we're going to focus on him getting that first as it would give us a bit extra to increase the dmp with, well thats he plan as of about an hour ago.
Hows your situation with the job now?
Better join you with the uniform thing - hunt the summer dresses down and the pe kit and ohhhh I've enjoyed not making the blooming packed lunches for dd and dh!
But will look at farmstay first - thanks:ADMP mutual support thread member 371LBM Jan 2010DMP Paddle No 20 -
Hi all, I've now started my DMP so, can I get a paddle number!? By name, by number!
Can't believe I didn't spot this earlier, but I am a right lil lurker so maybe thats why it passed me by.
Just had a lil rant on my original post, however there is some celebration this week - I discovered a sainsburys supermarket 8 miles from where I live/work which is cheaper than the co-operative supermarket 6 miles from where I live/work - Yep, its an expensive supermarket and an extra two miles away but is way cheaper than co-op, is open until 9 and I can cycle to it as it has bike friendly locking places.

Afternoon All
Wish the sun was shining here, as usual its disappeared.
Busy weekend, no lovenotes from the creditors yesterday.
Been busy sorting wardrobe out and have a large pile for Ebay, more to throw at the debt.
Mama you are doing brilliantly and its only been a couple of months, so give yourself peace and concentrate on having a relaxing weekend. As for running, I always say to the kids and OH that any marathon or running thing is just a great big collection of people waiting to be sectioned, completely mad. better to try a game where you can actually compete against a person.....................Can you tell I'm a sofa hugger?????More than Two Years in
Doing it the Niddy way:j:j:j0 -
Hi Tedsd, thanks for the welcome! The journey so far hasn't been overly smooth, but if life was a smooth road, we'd all be bored quickly! Apologies for the crummy metaphor, am trying to be positive today ready for the week ahead as I'd had a few good weeks of not worrying financially but last week seemed to hit a low patch!
I have over an hours walk to work so cycling makes sense as a commuting mode, as if I walked I'd have to get up earlier than I'd like, and as I do a job that I feel benefits from me being physically fit I can justify to myself that cycling around is doubly beneficial, financially and health-wise - not that this helps me feel any better when I over do it! Cycling to the newly discovered supermarket is going to be a challenge as its fairly hilly, eek, but the views are worth it.
However a tumble this week will see me spending cash on the bike, grrr, but I just remember that its cheaper to repair my bike than it is to repair my car!

Hi all ...... havent been in touch for a while but have been keeping up to date with your posts. All quiet on my DMP first payment went on 1st April. Still havent heard from BCard contacted CCCS who said they hadnt either but creditors only get in touch when they dont accept. So just hoping thats a good sign. Didnt hear from Halifax at all until statement arrived last week with no interest charges and min payment was the CCCS amount.:j
Have been good with my budget feels really good not having to use a CC this month and having cash left over 5 days before payday. Only thing tho my shower is playing up no hot water and bath tap not working so its cold showers at the moment DS thinks it great. So ringing plumber tomorrow and waving bye to my emergency fund. But at least I'm not resorting to using a CC.:)0
