Had a letter from MBNA today stating that they had received an income and expenditure form from PayPlan and that they appreciated my financial difficulty therefore they have placed my account on a severe hardship programme which means all late/over limit fees/interest will be suspended. They mention setting up a standing order with them but i already pay them though PayPlan.
MBNA are showing as one of the creditors who rejected my offer in my PayPlan creditor details. Weird!

Is this good news or not?

Hi Jeddy, Had exactly the same, and its very common it would seem from people's posts and from what CCCS said when I phoned them about the same thing with another company. Good News!

Hugs for you. If your hubby looses his job you perhaps need to reconsider your options with the DMP provider. One thing we're all learning is there is a way through, it wont be easy, you cant have the frilly holidays but you are entitled to a life and every day (even when interest going up for now) you will be a step nearer to DFD. In the interim come and have some support with us lot.

    HHx

Think you might be confusing me with someone else, as I'm not married, there's only me! Thanks though!

Think I will send some template letters off as suggested with the CCCS SOA and CCCS reference number to all three of my creditors myself just in case it helps speed things up or even just stops the phone calls!

Fingers crossed I get a new job sorted quickly, although it is very very quiet on that front here :(

    Morning Everyone!

Welcome New Peeps....Kat81, Skintoflinto and Raquela and well done for finding us too...lots and lots of lovely people all paddling together up DMP Creek!!

Nat - Ahh little cutie with the daffs! Mine used to LOVE their nursery time, DS is at a preschool every morning now - he cried on the mornings he didn't go so he's using his vouchers to the full!

No sign of True for a couple of days, hope it's still sunny in Cornwall and she's sunning herself!

DS the younger is still trying with the potty when he feels like it...we're not going full out for no nappies yet. He's given in though and chatting away about all sorts of nonsense now - thanks for asking:A What about your DS, how's the nighttime rolling, has he decided he likes it on his tummy?

Gibbs - The phone number you use once your DMP is set up is 8am to 6pm - HTH!
:eek:Barclaycard phoning at work is not on:mad:

Raquela -From what I gather from other peoples posts and from what's happening to us if your DMP payments are close to your minimum payment then creditors are unlikely to stop or reduce interest charges, One of our low balances has just added £15 on this month - the balance was 90 when we started dmp. Ned to check with cccs if we can just pay this one off somehow without causing a problem with other creditors.

Have to go now DD is trying to read over my shoulder (but I'd more to type) - which is a fab development for her as she's a totally reluctant reader but :eek:Will arry on later when DH GETS UP!!!!!
Hope its a good weekend for everyone!

    Nice to know that.:T

6pm would have meant I could phone from home, since I live so near to work and am home by 5.15. Hope this helps others.

  • Morning All and welcome newbies, hope we can be helpful here.

Been really busy this week and had to do a 14 hour shift yesterday as was taking a pile of small businessmen out on a jolly last night, talk about tired..........

Not much going on on the DMP front, Virgin sent a nice statement with no interest, only thing that is worrying me is my Lloyds account, smallest balance, all that trouble with them, then they phoned to say they had accepted and had sent me a letter, no didn't get a letter, but it starts on 30th March, no it started before that but lets go with that, still no letter and no statement, I'm worried this is lying somewhere piling interest and nothing happening, OMG, do you think I I have to phone again????

    Not to-day, maybe Monday.........

    have a good day all

Enjoy the walk and picnic Ted- you are being very good - hope you don't get any are we nearly there yets this time!

We are planting the little veggie bed in the back garden today.....using seeds left from last year...do you think they'll work....we know nothing about gardening, except stuff needs water:D But loads grew last year!

PDD 14 hours and a pile of small businessmen sounds above and beyond....but the image of you pushing a wheelbarrow full of very tiny men in suits is making me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Look forward to phoning Lloyds on Monday....don't think they even have the people who know how to press the right buttons in at the weekend!

Hello skintoflinto and Welcome!:D Glad it's not been as bad as expected, sometimes the fear of what may happen is worse than what actually happens! Good luck with your DMP, I'm still sending tokens but am hoping to start June 1st...

Keep us posted and if you need any help just shout and one of us will be along.

ps How are you with Aldi trolleys and theme parks?? :)

Thanks! Aldi? I'm more of a Netto girl :D. Theme parks? What's that all about? :)
    Debt = HUGE!:eek: LBM March 2010:idea:
    DMP starting May 2010:j
We are now proud to be dealing with our debt!!
  • Raquela - Sorry about that for some reason I thought your post said OH rather than yourself.

Mama - That's interesting to know re min repayment and liklihood of interest freeze. I can't wait to get started now. yes I can. no I can't!

My coop card arrived today and confirmation from work that wages will be paid into that account, phew.

Heard from 2 CCs in 5 letters today also, no mention of DMP or token payment, just please reinstate direct debits. Guess it's early days yet.

Had my first trip to Aldi, omg what a trauma. The check out operator was mumbling instructions and throwing my shopping at me even though the store was very quiet and there was no one in the queue. Wasn't very pleasant at the time but I'm laughing about the experience now. I bought some bleach that managed to leak all over my hands. I pointed this out, it was grabbed from my hands by someone to replace it, no question as to was I ok etc. 12 minutes later I'm still stood there, I politely ask someone on the till who tells me it was him (I hadn't seen his face) and that he'd been called onto the till instead. Hmmmm guess I'm going to have to get used to this if I want to be out of this! On a brighter note am pleased to report no trolley hassle, brand new store. Bought some wacko biscuits so will be reporting in on the taste challenge over the next week.

Right I need to get some work done and then have some pals over later which will be nice.

    Enjoy the sunshine everyone.
