Thanks. So far I've utterly failed in keeping an emergency fund, because emergencies keep happening
Of course if I do get rid of the car, that's something that won't be eating money!

Well done Prof so pleased your dmp is starting its great when you see that 1st payment go and the hopefully the balance coming down.:T
Hi Raqulea welcome we haven't spoken yet. Sorry to hear the DMP isn't going to well. I'm with RBS and triton are there inhouse debt collectors. Go to National debtline they have template letters asking them to stop the interest and charges, which they luckly did with mine. They sometimes refund the charges aswell. Definatley try it. If they are calling you too much and youo think it is harrassment you can also send a letter for that. Try and avoid speaking to Triton they badger you for all sorts of info, i have hd one occasion where they were acutally quite helpful. If there is anything else just shout.
Welcome Hopelessy Helpful glad you've joined us on our paddle. If your account is not online anymore it prob meeans its been suspended and passed to collections. don't panic. If you need to sound off here is the place to do it, and well done for starting your DMP

Hi
I am considering getting a dmp with payplan. Can someone tell me if I should get my pay put into a different account and why people need to do this?
Many thanks0 -
Hi
I am considering getting a dmp with payplan. Can someone tell me if I should get my pay put into a different account and why people need to do this?
Many thanks
It's generally a good idea. Firstly, if you're in your overdraft on your main account then Payplan will count this as a debt. Also, if you have any debts with your bank or a bank they're linked to, they will quite often just take the money straight out of your current account, leaving you with nothing to live on.
Welcome to the group! We're just getting our DMP set up with PayPlan, we're in our first month of token payments and new account.0 -
Hi gang
Can I join, please?
Me & hubby are starting a DMP in May. Sent token payments, received some phone calls & letters - not as bad as expected...so far anyway!
CCCS have been amazing...really reassuring & helpful as has this site.Debt = HUGE! LBM March 2010:idea:DMP starting May 2010:jWe are now proud to be dealing with our debt!!0 -
Can't help with the multiple quotes, think I still have online access to the same bank, will check, but haven't head anything from them.
How'd you feel posting those letters?
Ah meant one of my CCs Mama. Zero loyalty bank dont know yet, until i can be sure that my salary has been paid into the coop!

Hi all
I started my DMP in January (well, technically February I think, since that's when the first payment went to creditors). So far I'm hating it, and interest is building up and up. Reading through this thread has made me hope it will end and creditors will accept it eventually! Does anyone one now how many monthly payments it usually takes for things to settle down? I rang CCCS yesterday and they said that they haven't heard from any of my creditors, so don't know if it's been accepted or not. Triton, acting on behalf of Natwest are the worst, harassing phone calls and insist they've never had any paperwork from CCCS. Have decided not to pick up the phone from them anymore as I end up in tears (more of anger than upset) everytime. Thankfully they only have my mobile number, and it's PAYG, so if it continues I'll be getting a new SIM card as soon as I've used up my credit!
Not sure I'm actually going to be able to continue with the DMP at the current payment as I'm about to be unemployed unless I can find another temp contract somewhere! The employment market here is pretty dire at the moment. But will persevere!
Hugs for you. If your hubby looses his job you perhaps need to reconsider your options with the DMP provider. One thing we're all learning is there is a way through, it wont be easy, you cant have the frilly holidays but you are entitled to a life and every day (even when interest going up for now) you will be a step nearer to DFD. In the interim come and have some support with us lot.

Pay Plan phoned me back at around 7pm when I took the first step and signed up with them. They made the appointment time. Very useful as I work full time. I'm guessing that once the plan is really up and running, not just starting out as it is now so I still have a few questions, that office hours would be fine to talk to a case officer on the (hopefully!!) rare occasion I might need info.
With PP I've always had two names given to me, not sure I have actually ever spoken to the named people when I've phoned and typed my PP number into the phone. It would be useful not to be limited to office hours, hence my question about CCCS as others might have the same, albeit minor issue.
Barclaycard phoned at work today and I am on leave. My boss phoned and told me, so I phoned them, foreign call centre, spoke to three people eventually, then got cut off!!!! So I just phoned the Customer Services. Spoke to a very nice lady who said she was making a note on my record and would freeze interest etc for 30 days until Pay Plan have contacted them.
Long ramble sorry.
You could always consider the dont call me at all/at work letter?
