  • Good evening ladies, it's official, I'm starting the DMP on May 1st :j.
Have spoke to most creditors on the phone now and all have been ok, I suppose the advantage I have is that BoS is my main creditor (70%) and they advised me to contact Payplan.
Anyway, am extremely relieved, it's nearly 3 months in the waiting, just hope it's been worth it. May have a small cherryade to celebrate.

  • Very interesting Nanny. Citi are one of mine.
Without tempting fate, it does seem that a lot of our creditors are freezing interest at the moment. The new government initiative to protect us a bit maybe?

Had my 02 Load and Go card today. Applied last saturday and I have my card and my pin. It's going to come in handy as i can just put a little at a time on it and it's my money not credit - just like a pay as you go phone card. I wish they had introduced these things years ago!
It's also free to draw your cash out at ATM's as well. You only need to go to a shop/post office where there is a pay point sign and you can just load cash onto the card for your own use and not worry about statements, interest or anything associated with a credit card as it's not a 'credit card'.
Some other good news - Santander accepted my DMP offer according to my PayPlan account details. So thats 3 responses so far Halifax said yes, Santander - Oui and MBNA a big fat NON! Just hope HSBC give the thumbs up to my loan/overdraft and CC, but that could take a while as I have been told they drag their feet a little.
I've had a positive day today!

@Andy - best of luck mate - you are doing the right thing. That LB moment will change your life for the better!

Hi all just a quickie as I'm at work but couldn't wait to tell u! Hubbie just phoned to say an email had came in from co-op to say my online application had been accepted and the paperwork was in the post.......how good is that they had said it could take up to 5 days to get a decision so am delighted it was so quick, I can really get the ball moving now, will go on to cccs 2morrow and start the whole process.

    Hi AndyD,

Congrats re the co-op account!:) Its great to feel things are moving in the right direction and you feel in control once more!

  • Hi Albie, yes thru Payplan, but only because BoS advised it (I thought that would give me more clout-which it has). They have and continue to be fab, totally non-judgemental and very supportive.
From what I read so are the CCCS and they who would have allowed me to start in Feb, whilst Payplan insist you have made 3 payments to any new debt beforing starting.
Good luck with your decision, the stress does seem to be dropping a bit as I get closer to my DMP start.

Yep, I've read about them heard about them and not even on a dmp yet but my statement this eve said my min payment has gone up from £103 p/m to £133 next month. I phoned them and spoke to some gentle Irish chappie who said it jumped up by £30 due to "interest billing cycles"???
Sounds like a big bunch of "do do", to me!! Therefore my balance has gone up this month for the first time?? I do pay min payment though but not sure what has happened. Plus I found out the card has a whopping interst of 24.9%:mad: Said I never remembered anything stating this high interest that so he said he would send me a copy of my CCA within 11 to 14 days (post 2007:mad:)

Prof PP, thank you...watch this space. I never have been one for making decisions for myself but can make them for all my family and friends:rotfl:

May I ask re the 3 payments to any new debt rule with PP? Does it mean they take 3 payments before they pay your creditors for the first time?:o
