  • No, you have to have made 3 monthly payments to any new debt before you can start your DMP, in my case I made a balance transfer in Jan to Egg, hence I couldn't start until now. I have been making token payments since Feb to all my creditors.
Incidentally MBNA basically caused my LBM with an interest hike to 34.9%!!!!

    Debt at DMP start (May 1st '10) £54.9k, as of 1st Oct '11 £33.2k. 40% cleared.

Morning all, just got the kids off to school so peace and quiet for a few hours!

PDD, is the gold for cash worth it, i have a few bits and pieces, i dont really wear much jewellery and when i do its usually just dress jewellery so its all just lying there doing nothing, my only dilema is the sentimental thing maybe yous could all give me your thoughts.

I have a chain and locket my mum and dad bought me for my 18th (god it could be classed as antique now:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: ), i never ever wear it but my problem is they have both passed away so would it be wrong? also my mum left me some stuff when she passed, again i never wear it and its been lying in a box in a drawer for nearly 11 years now, i do have a ring from her that i would defo keep but does that make it ok? I dont know what to do, i have thought of it a few times since the adverts came on TV.

I dont really think the sentimental thing bothers me as i say i never wear it or even look at it and would keep the ring anyway, but a wave of guilt does come over me , i dont know would it be wrong?

Great going Prof, looks as if you're well on the way. Good result Jeddy, you can just never tell, MBNA were really good with us, no problems at all.
re the gold, I just flogged some non sentimental stuff we had picked up along the way, I got £235.55 from Hatton Garden and they were very good, that was around double that some of the other online peeps offered and HGM are the one which are allowed to have a thread on here, so must be good????

Its a bit early for cherryade, but I'll have one for later.........

Have a good day all, its sunny here, no ash yet................

    HAPPY FRIDAY!! :j:j

Do you know my most favourite thing about this thread...is that you all know EXACTLY what it's like dealing with these morons...

Letter from Nationwide yesterday - very nice, accepting DMP :j with payments starting May 15th...!!!!!!? I wish they'd make up their mind, on Monday they were 'disappointed' with me!

Nothing about interest though, so I'll have to wait and see.

These people are crazy, yes? I was tearing my hair out on Monday and all for nothing! Grrrrrr

Anyway, just pleased it's sorted now. Onwards and upwards! :T

  • Good evening ladies, it's official, I'm starting the DMP on May 1st :j.
Have spoke to most creditors on the phone now and all have been ok, I suppose the advantage I have is that BoS is my main creditor (70%) and they advised me to contact Payplan.
Anyway, am extremely relieved, it's nearly 3 months in the waiting, just hope it's been worth it. May have a small cherryade to celebrate.

    Hi AB

I found the other DMP support thread very valuable for looking back at peoples questions, helps the penny to drop http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1735087
