Does this help? Its from the Debt Collection Guidelines.

c and d could be worth quoting, there are others but i'm still trying to research everything!

2.8 Examples of unfair practices are as follows:
    a. sending demands for payment to an individual when it is uncertain that
they are the debtor in question, for example, threatening debt recovery
action to 'the occupier' or sending a payment demand to all people sharing
the same name/date of birth as a debtor in the hope that contact with the
    correct debtor will be made.
    b. disclosing debt details to an individual when it is uncertain that they are
the debtor in question, for example, disclosing details to 'the occupier' of
    an address.
    c. refusing to deal with appointed or authorised third parties, such
as Citizens Advice Bureaux, independent advice centres or money
    advisers
    d. contacting debtors directly and bypassing their appointed representatives

  • Hi all

Glad to see you're all hanging in there. Keep up the good fight. I'm having one of those" I CAN conquer all" days. Don't think about how long its gonna take. Just think that you don't need to work with pretend money anymore. This way you can actually afford to spend you're own money.

As everyone says, it takes a good 3 months for things to settle but once they do you feel that you can actually start building up your life again and that all things are possible.:j

Welcome to all. Dont despair. This is only the beginning.... of a stress free life
    Debt at DMP start (1st Oct 10) £30,838k :(. Debt of DMP as of 11th May 12 £12,170k :o.

Am I right that some of our posters live in the South West of England? If so I hope they are not being flooded.

  • Sorry Gibbs can't help on that one

E2 sorry to hear that, sounds steep. Bcard are one of the ones that reduced but didn't stop mine. Wonder if a few pester letters would not go a miss.

Wouldn't it be great if they accepted DMPs for the duration rather than 'we may or may not revoke it or the charges'. Silly me, that would be like expecting it to be a two way process rather than them having all the power. I'm not making light of the decisions people have to take to go down UE, IVA or Bancrupcy route but you do wonder if people will question the merits of a DMP when you hear of that sort of behaviour!

Hope everyone is making it through the week
