Morning all
Santander have been busy with me this week.
Monday...................credit card arrears notice
Tuesday..................Current Account letter telling me they have been approached by CCCS and they are happy with the payments (!)
Thursday..................we are going to default you on your current account you bad man for not paying us back
Friday......................Defaulted! An official default notice and a seperate letter telling me they had sent a letter defaulting me but not to worry and to continue paying through CCCS as agreed.
Now, can you tell me why bank charges are so high in this country?I'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013

Look on the bright side they are keeping the postman in a job, multiply that by all the other credit people doing the same thing and the PO are laughing :rotfl:Paddle No 21 :wave:0 -
Hi everyone just a quick update
mbna are not happy with amount we are paying back its not enough but we have to carry on paying.
Next wanted me to enter into a new agreement with them for less per month than dmp was offering which makes no sense.
HBOS have been awful they have said interest and charges will continue for our personal loan as our payment is over 1/3 of original payment amountand we got a default charge of £20 same day, when i rang cccs for advice the man was not very helpful he said try this website for advice its called moneysavingexpert have you heard of it....... :rotfl:
they originally said debt free in 7 years think it will be more like 20 if this carries on!0 -

I had a letter from Nat West this week. Our accounts have gone to their collection depts. The OD is the only thing in joint names so it was a standard letter asking how I was going to pay it back and asking me to ring. I did hesitate but telephoned and spoke to a very nice young man thankfully. He told me to get OH to ring payplan and ask them to resend the SOA showing that it is a joint propostion ie that my salary is taken into account. He also noted it on my file (not that they didn't already know!)
Good and bad news. He said that interest on that account would be stopped but indicated they would not be looking so lightly on the loan account. He said that would be passed on to the heavy mob (not his words)so could be in for a rough ride.
Doesn't sound like any of these banks have any Christmas spirit at the moment.DMP mutual support member 3970 -

I would ring back CCCS and see if you get a more knowledgable helper! It would have been ironic if he'd directed you to this thread as well.....I'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013

Hi Louise
MBNA will accept payment and will continue to cease interest as long as you keep paying, so don't worry about them.
DON'T sign another agreement with Next, they want it cos they probably don't have the original and are worried that you may CCA them, be strong and don't sin another agreement.
HBOS are ridiculous, phone the FOS and complain and you will win cos they know that your are in hardship and they are making it worse.
As an example of their outright stupidity, they declared one of our unenforceable, sent us a letter to that effect, they can't make us pay. but they keep adding interest on and keep selling it to dopey DCAs who all back off when they find out its UE. Just stupid and a waste of money, or are they trying to build up the debt to write it off against tax??? I wonder?????
Keep strong, remember you are in charge not them and its only money, and if you ain't got it, they can't have it!!!More than Two Years in

Hello Everyone, hope that you are all o.k.
HH, do you have the template letter handy that we can send to Mercers regarding sending someone to the house, if so I would be grateful:o
Mercers are sending us crazy with their phonecalls and threatening letters. I wrote to say that we would only deal with them in writing which stopped the calls for a little while but NOW... they are ringing 5/6 times a day and writing aswell!! They are threatening to send someone round to the house and taking legal action to recover the money we owe. They are getting the lions share from our DMP and CCCS have re-sent our SOA to them but it is making no difference. They are charging interest, late fees and any other fees that they can think of so the balance is going up and up and its driving us mad. The card belonged to my OH who will not speak to them on the phone as he is likely to tell them to F$%k off:o
I can't ring CCCS now until Friday as I am in work until 6pm so any advice would be very much appreciated:)
Thanks
