    Hi VicB,

sorry to see you're overdrawn after all your hard work :o Hope it all turns out ok.

    Have a good day All.

    Ted

Thanks Ted. Have just had an email back and they said by time it does bounce back, which I'm still not sure if it will, it'll be too late for them to pay for me, so I'll have to send payments myself. Which is fine, just frustrating waiting to see if it does bounce or not...! My own fault, really cross. Urgh. If only life didn't get in the way of trying to do the right thing eh?

Hope you're all having a good day, must say I've missed you all! x

  • Hi all. Been reading through this forum since the light in my head went on on sunday at 430 in the morning.

Just want to say thanks to everyone for being so supportive of each other and a great source of information. Mostly has put my mind at ease re going down the DMP route but still bricking it about how to start it all off.

I have contacted CCCS and they have done a budget plan and sent through the DMP agreement. I have never defaulted on anything and can pay montly payments to my loans x2 and cc x3 but am basically living on credit each month and spiralling rapidly into oblivion. I am going to get all the debt info from creditors over next few days to send of to CCCS but am seriously concerned about upcoming payments and the "token" payment of a quid. Really goes against everything i know and finding it all embarrasing. I havnt contacted any of the creditors yet so i suppose they dont know whats coming or have any idea how deep i am. All i know is i cant take anymore credit to pay off others as thats how i got into this in the first place.

Are they going to go absolutely mental and refuse any plan or will they look at it as at least he's recognised there is a problem. Really cant see any other way out of this hole i have dug but if Court action is taken i may lose my job, last nail in coffin lol.

Most of it is with Santander and have heard and read some horror stories about them re DMP's. I owe £17k give or take but am divorced and have mortgage and child payments. Again nothing is in arrears.

Have loads of questions but will leave it there as feel another blub fest coming on. :(
Basically i am looking at a debt free day in about 14 years lol.

"Blokes dont cry"?? well this one has been blubbing on and off for last 3 days even at 3 in the morning.

  • HI Ted, thanks for the advice. I take it it makes no difference if i havent contact them as of yet and just send the DMP letter and a token payment. As i said i could possible make full monthly payment but will then have to rob one of the credit cards to live for the rest of month.

I spose i should get my butt to post office and buy some postal orders. Really goes against the grain to send a quid but if thats what i have to do then so be it. Just worked out at the amount i can afford at the mo its going to take 160 months to clear this even if they stop the interest. OH MY GOD !!!!!!

I am around just full of busy family illness. Hoping to get the letter to Barclaycard this week so will send you all a copy. Wonder why they are doing this its not logical. I just wonder if they try it on to see if people write.

    awful weather here.
welcome all newbies, glad there are light bulbs flashing on all over the place.
the next thing is a change of mindset, you put yourself and your family first, right at the top of the list, creditors are away down at the bottom.
and no shame please, get yourselves educated, read everything and take charge of the situation, they can't have what you haven't got and its only money!!!

oooh and you are definitely right Ted, knowledge is power!!!

Anybody else seen that post on the main board? What would advice would you give a 20 year old?

Some excellent replies but all say the same thing really.

    DON'T DO IT!

What would I tell the 20 year old me? Well it wasn't exactly the 20 year old me that had major problems more a 40 year old me. But I would say do not apply for that 1st credit card because it won't be enough E2, it won't be enough.

Oh and don't think you can play the clever, clever stoozing game E2 cos you bloody well can't.

    Just don't do it E2.

    Unfortunately I did.
