Don't Know if I feel better or worse, just spent the last three hours photocopying all my debts to send in to CSSS for my DMP.
Didn't realize how many there were !:(
But it's done now, and then the first people I tell is a bunch of strangers, probably be the only people I'll tell, but wanted/needed to tell someone! It's a lot to carry round on your own and I know people on here have been where I am now. I suppose I want people to tell me things will get better.
    Thanks for listening!

    Hey!

Its done, you've seen the extent of the problem and now you can move forward.

    You will feel better

You will see the debt coming down

You will find yourself living a frugal lifestyle

You will enjoy it (trust me on this you become an obsessive miser)

You have done the right thing

Your not the only one, I mean, look at my signature, it was a frightening, overwhelming, mess but now its just numbers on a page.

You will win you know, probably doesn't feel like it at the moment, but you will.

All for one (us DMPers) and **** em all (the banks).

    E2

hello everyone nothing to report here our first cccs payment will be 1st november and we are still getting daily phonecalls and letters from mbna despite me writing to them and its always a foreign call centre where i have to repeat myself 75 times

am very nervous about xmas approcahing, normally i would have bits put away by now (on plastic) but i have nothing and no spare cash to buy it as every penny is trying to pay family back what we owe.
i really don't want my kids to suffer because we screwed up. am keeping everything crossed hubby gets a xmas bonus this year as that could save us :D

Hi Louise. That is exactly what happened to me with MBNA. Don't worry - it will settle. They were really plaguing me but the minute I started paying them the agreed amount, the phone calls stopped so I hope you can look forward to the same peace and quiet.

As for Christmas, don't worry. Be honest with people (I don't mean tell them everything). Let them know money is tight and you'd be surprised at how much help family and friends can be.;)
    Debt at DMP start (1st Oct 10) £30,838k :(. Debt of DMP as of 11th May 12 £12,170k :o.

    Hi all

I need the safety of this board for a while, i'm having a spat over Payday loans on the DFW board and i'm getting wound up. Which I said i'd never do.

Might have to retire for a while, not good for the old ticker this posting business!

    Calm.................calm........calm.........

Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out. Don't think I ever read anything bad on this board thread :T So stay here for a little while. have a  and if I could find the dodgy hug emoticon I'd give you one of those as well.

Think a friend who knows I am on a DMP(only person I actually meet who does know;)) might be coming to join us. I was telling her about this thread and suggested she read us, she thought she might do bancruptcy but I told her about the DMP route.

  • relax eyeopener, I understand exactly what you are saying. and I must admit its one of the main reasons I post very little on these boards now (with the exception of this thread and the NSD one). There are too many people giving opinions rather than advice, and sometimes it just doesn't help, I'm going to have a wander over to see where you dummy is!

  • Hey E2,

Hope your ok and not on the floor somewhere. The advice you have given is always considered and true from your experiences and kind.

Tell them where to stick it ( whoops angry G popping in) hehehe

Have a good day all, off to write my letter to Barclaycard offering them 20% doubtful but you never know!:j
