    Just popping in.

Good to see there are a lot of positive vibes being generated.

Not a great deal to report on my stuff. I decided not to respond to Santander and the request to increase payments. Couldn't be bothered!

Everything else is very very quiet and I find myself wishing the days away to next months payment date.

I'm looking forward to the November 25th statement as that will mean QuickQuid will be paid! Yeha.

But thats 6 weeks away and anything could happen in the next half hour so I won't wish my life away toooooo much.

Take care everybody and remember "All for One and **** 'em all!"

  • Just an update and a thanks to all of you particularly Eyeopener & Mikon with advice for this particular matter.

You may remember we were getting late payment charges and interest from Post Office CC. Then got a stroppy letter from their DCA Buchannan Clark & Wells.

Mikon posted a template which I adapted and wrote to all the various depts (in OH's name) asking why they weren't responding to my letters and reiterating our position, saying they were puting us further in to debt etc etc. I sent recorded delivery as advised.

Got a long letter back today saying that as they had responded to Payplan they didn't bother responding to us. Quoted various guidelines which justified their charges and said that WE hadn't responded to their DCA (cleverly giving the date I sent the letters!)
Anyway they said that they have now advised Buchannan Clark & Wells to suspend interest and drop charges and 'as a gesture of good will' have refunded the two late payment charges of £12 back to our account!! Brilliant.
In other words they have done nothing wrong but they have been magnanimous (sp)

Well thats fine by me as the result is the same. So thanks everyone for your support & advice with this.:T

As far as Nat West goes, they have actually gone out of their way to get my name off my mum's account before they pass it on. Can't fault them they even rang to say it was done and were really supportive sayig this is a huge problem for many people.
BUT i'm assuming that now our case is winging its way to their Debt Collection Office things won't be so friendly so we're bracing ourselves for the next stage!

Well, the weekend is here and so is another letter from Mercers. It's true what everyone says about these companies ensuring letters end up on your doormat on a Saturday when you can't do much about them!!

Mercers are continually ringing my OH's phone and have now written a letter to say that he has missed 3 payments but offering a sort of BOGOF?? If he pays 2 payments then they will credit his account with the third!! If he does nothing then they MAY send a debt collector to the house??

CCCS have told me to ignore their letters in the past but I think that it's probably worth me sending a letter back to them to point out that we have made token payments and reduced payments through the CCCS and that we will only deal with them in writing.

I'm not stressed out by this letter as such but it is playing on my mind that they will come to the house:o

Apart from Mercers, everything else seems to be ticking along

Take care everyone and hope that you are all enjoying a stress-free weekend

Just reading today's article on here re the OFT and UE and where I may have been tempted I'm now thinking  especially if they can simply send out a new accurate CCA... ????????????

No panicing Ted in fact, this is smoke and mirrors as usual. I think its mainly to discourage all these eejit firms who take £500 per card to get them wiped which is nearly impossible. Basically the guidelines are that they can make a copy (they have always been able to) HOWEVER to make a copy you have to have an original and to get court enforcement you have to produce the original. You can't produce an original if you don't know what was on it to make the copy ifyswim. So in fact, it looks like notheing much has changed. I never expected to have ours declared unenforceable by a court, I just don't expect ever to get to a court with the unenforceable ones, there's a difference there if you think about it.

    so its back to

  • Hi, I started with PayPlan, it has been two months- the experience is good so far...But the rate that I am paying, it will take me 10 years  so I have to look into making extra money, have a lump some and negotiate a settlement.

I think I shall join this thread just in case :p
    Don't forget smiling :):):)

    Hello

Going through the expenditure forms. A question, why do they ask for the partners income when all the debt is mine and I am the one to repay it?
In between goals is a thing called life, that has to be lived and enjoyed:D
