That shows you how careful you have to be. They could have emptied your joint account with your Mum. Like you say though at least they warned you.

I'm an extremely forgiving person but banks, DCAs drive even me to the edge.

Still haven't confirmed that mum's account is back in her name. Don't want to chase mum as that will worry her. I had to make a white lie up when we filled in the forms as she would be mortified if she knew. Just said we were negotiating reduced payments but didn't want to take any chances.

I don't know about anyone else but I only ever seem to get letters like this at weekends when you have to wait two days to be able to sort it out.

Looks like we re in the same boat, so our two paddles will be useful
HSBC who have always shown up as "Pending" on my Payplan, have sent me a letter today (Saturday 9th Oct) telling me I must pay them arrears of £1,780.36 by 27th October. Further action will be taken if this does not happen. Recovery of all moneys outstanding £5,997.16. Another letter asked if I was having difficulties and suggested variuos credit people who could help.

Hello people at HSBC, Payplan have been paying you since April :rotfl::rotfl:

Wait even better, yet another letter and this one tells me I can have an overdraft on an account that is now closed. We wonder why the country is in a financial mess? Who are these people who work in these Banks?:eek::eek:

Exactly the same letter I got today!
I phoned them yesterday and was talking to an American who sounded like the original 'Eddie the computer' from the BBC version of Hitchikers Guide to the galaxy.:rotfl:
HSBC take ages to come to any conclusion. PayPlan did tell me that much and they were right!
I also got the same bumf about the overdraft! Wait my current account is no more! kicked the bucket, 'its shuffled off 'its mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile! This is an ex current account!:rotfl:

just back from a carefully budgetted week away, home and 78p left in the holiday budget, so I am getting better at this............

big pile of Ue stuff sitting awaiting me but nothing bad, just the usual abuse of trees, some of the letters are actually quite funniy once you know a bit about the process and don't get worried. cap 1 believes its ok to presume that the terms and conditions and prescribed terms were there but they destroyed them cos they thought they didn't need em???? if that one went to court, do you think a judge would say, ok let's imagine this agreement................nope, i don't think so..............

hope everyone is doing fine, don't forget there is loads of stuff on allaboutdebt, including some really useful stuff about what they (crditors) can do and what they can't, something we should all be reading a lot............

    see you all later..........

Hi most lovely DMPers, hope all is good and the paddles are strong... just popping in to send calm, strength, welcomes, hugs or whatever is needed....order in this house!
If I thought I was a slummy mummy before!! Oh the chaos...just by being out of the house 2 and a half days. Looking forward to upping our cccs payment -while I have this job it should be doubled, hoped to do it as of the 1st Nov, but they taxed me into oblivion - something about me having another job - in another dimension possibly! So we have to wait another month, just hope the preditors stay quiet until then. But it means the extra we would have paid can be an emergency fund!!! Finally or maybe will do Christmas...eeek got to get dd's bd done first - next week she's 8!
Sorry I'm a rubbish poster at the mo - well worse than before...

What a day. Took some time off work to go to mum's bank to find out what was happening with my name being removed. To cut a long story short although I filled i the forms on 23rd August and they were sent away that day, they weren't looked at till 14 September. Then apparently they wrote to mum notifying her that they were reducing her od limit. Well she NEVER has an OD. The they diarised it till Nov leaving my name on her account!!

I explained to the girl at enquiries that I hadn't got to November and they would take my mum's money. I showed my letter from my branch. Eventually she went and got somebody else who spent ages trying to get through to my branch. (well its telephone banking we were with) She was so kind it reduced me to tears (not sobbing or anything dramatic)I was feeling really ashamed and embarrased talking about it face to face like that. She was with me an hour and finally got through to my branch office who were equally good and could then see I had tried to get my name taken off.
They are going to try to find out what the delay is and ring me back but are going out of their way to sort it before they forward the case on to their DC dept.
It turns out the girl helping me at mum's branch was the manager. She said more than once that she speaks to so many people in the same position and it would all work out. (I hope she's right)

It is a positive event that I just wanted to pass on despite the huge charges they are currently levying! I've been anxious for them to move things on but in this case if they had moved it on my mum's bank account would be emptied.

As a result its been one of those days when the enormity slams you in the face. Here's to tomorrow.:)

    Hi Teds,

Feeling much better today. I rang the RBS helpline it was in a dailymail article tbh the girl seemed a bit confused but went away and said loans were not moving over. A little worried as our mortgage is with santander/abbey.
But if my account is now inactive and is with inhouse collections ii'm hoping it'll stay there.
Posted on the banking board as a couple of RBS reps were on there, if anything comes back i shall let you know.

Hi to all:wave::wave: hope you've had a MSE weekend Sat and Sun = NSD's for me, i haven't left the house boringggggggggggggg:D

    Hi Mephitsa,
Glad you had a good relaxing time:naughty: but pay your card off asap you wouldn't want anything happening to your other creditors.
If you do want to do anything like this in the future have you looked at Bannatynes spas they often have good offers only £15 for a facial if you like a treat every now and again. take care x

    Thanks Gabriella

I know I was bad but I really enjoyed it so I'm not feeling guilty:o. Probably should but there you have it. I should have it paid off soon as I have allotted my spare cash to clear it. I just couldn't let her 60th go by without doing something nice for her. But I know ... I know ... gotta remain strong. As promised I haven't touched it since. I don't know why I always feel different about this card but I do. I wish I had've treated all my other cards the same way and then I wouldn't be in as much difficulties as I am now.

As for Bannatynes - sounds good but I'm not sure we have any in Northern Ireland. I did however use a site called Groupon for the treatments - £85 quids worth each for like £20 quid each. They do special one off offers for all areas - ie. London, Belfast, Manchester, Glasgow etc - and all you do is have a look. If its something you're interested in and enough other people (usually around 8) lodge their interest, then the deal is on. I was a bit wary at the start - you never know how these things will work - but i can totally recommend it as an excellent way to save money but hand out treats at the same time!
    Debt at DMP start (1st Oct 10) £30,838k :(. Debt of DMP as of 11th May 12 £12,170k :o.
