Bumpety Bump! Afternoon All, our thread was on page 7 and sliding so thought I'd say hello, and hope everyone is ok. Think we are due a roll call soon......

Very interesting reading on the Allaboutdebt site, a huge thanks to those peeps for all the useful info. :D

    Hi Ted

Have you got the full address for the allaboutdebt site? I tried looking it up but all I can seem to find are American sites or sites offering debt consolidation. Doesn't sound like your site at all? I trust your taste so cough up!!:rotfl:

    Hi Louby

Keep the faith and don't let anyone push you around. I truly feel that for each of us, whatever our reasons are for being in this situation, we have been big enough to be honest about it and truly try to resolve it as best we can. Why do the banks and card companies feel this is a licence to bully? Instead they should be thanking us for taking it on the chin and sorting the damn thing instead of causing them even more trouble.

Chat with me anytime, I wasn't on much over the weekend cause I'd loads to do and I'm still trying to resolve the issue of a permanent reliable job. I just wish I could stay here on the salary I'm on. Is that so much to ask??? Anyway, if wishes were pennies ....

We're all here for you and everyone is so helpful with advice about what our rights are.

I also feel down quite a bit when I think here I am - job situation insecure, stuck in a 2 bedroom old house that needs loads of repair, stuck with the same car for eternity and the thought that I truly will be about 50 before I'm free. It can be depressing and my hubbie just won't talk about it although he's one foot in the hole himself. I don't what what I would do without all you guys.

Then I have to give myself a shake and think at least my car works, at least I'm not in negative debt and losing my house, I have a safe roof over my head and a house that's fully furnished, I'm clearing my debt slowly but surely, my body is still in one piece (just about) but most importantly - I can still laugh. How lucky am I?

Ahhhh I didn't realise it was a forum. The only forums I have ever bothered with are these ones. So thanks for that. I was looking for a bloomin' website!!!!

Talking about sites, I know its been mentioned on another site, but has anyone ever been into http://whatsthecost.com and created a snowball? I did and it was very interesting. Apparently it will take 698 months to pay off my debt taking into account my interest rates being frozen for 6 months on some of my cards and for 1 year on my loan. Now you know where I'm panicking.

Anyway if I manage to keep continuing to get my interest frozen or my payments increased, this changes dramatically. I can see myself physically "snowballing" my debt. Might not work for everyone but I like seeing it come down month by month. I've only just started so I'm hoping to make a bigger dint in it over time. Told ya I'd be gone by the time I'm done!!!!!

Anyhoooo its a really good site for advice as well.

  • afternoon all

just back from a carefully budgetted week away, home and 78p left in the holiday budget, so I am getting better at this............

big pile of Ue stuff sitting awaiting me but nothing bad, just the usual abuse of trees, some of the letters are actually quite funniy once you know a bit about the process and don't get worried. cap 1 believes its ok to presume that the terms and conditions and prescribed terms were there but they destroyed them cos they thought they didn't need em???? if that one went to court, do you think a judge would say, ok let's imagine this agreement................nope, i don't think so..............

hope everyone is doing fine, don't forget there is loads of stuff on allaboutdebt, including some really useful stuff about what they (crditors) can do and what they can't, something we should all be reading a lot............

    see you all later..........

Hey PDD have just been reading your diary on all about debt, how you coping mentally with it?
I think i'd stay worried for 6 years even though its been deemed unenforceable by the oracle of there. Are you saving up what you were paying to each of the creditors?

    Thanks
    Gx
  • Just had an email mentioning that Payplan came out of a report about DMP companies very well. I expect CCCS had the same kind of report so we can be fairly safe recommending them.

I tried to ring HSBC about their letter yesterday. I won't bother again, seeing as it was them that wanted the phonecall, they still wanted to ask all these security questions, the answers I set up when I set up the account. I answered "I don't know what the 4th, 8th digit was" so we decided not to bother. Think next time they phone me I might say I cannot take their call until they set up a favourite place, memorable pet name etc so I can prove it is them speaking to me.

Payplan just told me to ignore it as it was no doubt computer generated anyway.

Gibbs I had the same with my bank. I couldn't remember any of the security details and they wouldn't put me through at first because of it. I mean who would falsly ring about a debt!

Feeling a lot better today although witing for a call from Nat West which I hope will say my name is coming off mum's account.
Had a couple of ironing customers recently. Not much per hour but still excess to my wages. Puting any cash away. Not a fortune but makes me feel better.
    Love to all. X
