I think i'd stay worried for 6 years even though its been deemed unenforceable by the oracle of there. Are you saving up what you were paying to each of the creditors?
Thanks

doing great, once you get your head around what they can do and what they can't it makes it easier. All of us going through UE have had some really scary letters but so far they've al come to nothing, the DCAs do a lot of blustering but back off when they realise that you know a bit about case law and I haven't half learned a lot really quickly. Just got a letter from one to say they are sorry, they can't find our complete agreement and therefore will not be taking mr Dopey to court, and that one was a whopper............. and because we live in Scotland its only 5 years to being statute barred so on the way already.
this letter is now gaffa taped to my bosom:eek::eek::eek:
and yes, I still live on the CCCS budget and put the money away every month, will do f&fs for those that are enforceable. So its going well and we really hope to be debt free sooner than we would have been doing the DMP. and I don't feel the least bit guilty, think of all that ramped up interest they whacked us with, I've paid more than once.
hope you're all doing OK.More than Two Years in

Hey does anyone know if the UE route works in Northern Ireland and if so, who do I speak to to find out if I am elligible. I mean those who are on it, do you think its worth looking at or since all is okay at the mo on my DMP, am I better sticking with it?
I tried the 2 hour online test last night to try and stay in my place of employment as a Team Leader instead of an Executive Assistant. I actually didn't think it was possible to knock my self-esteem any further ..... but I was wrong! Had to go in this morning and tell them I am withdrawing my application and now I fully expect to be given my week's notice of redundancy. Meanwhile they have me working like a beggar for them on the HR side of things - go figure! Anyway looks like today is shaping up to be a crap one and I'm psyching myself up to having to recontact creditors about a change in my circumstances by being back to square one in a couple of weeks time.
I could cry. Just when I thought I was getting somewhere. I'm so frustrated, I can hardly keep my emotions in check!! Will keep you all posted.:(Debt at DMP start (1st Oct 10) £30,838k. Debt of DMP as of 11th May 12 £12,170k

hi guys, no reason why it shouldn't work in NI, its part of Great Britain, should be fine but its not a light decision, you need to research and find out if it would be suitable for you, knowledge is power................More than Two Years in

Thanks. Will look up on the debt forum site to keep myself uptodate at what's going on but only to be aware of it as a last case scenario.
Meantime, you will find this shocking I know, but while it is part of the UK, Northern Ireland has always had its own law and regulations - in fact in normally takes it about 4 years to followsuit with GB and even at that, like Scotland, it takes pride in being stubborn and doing things its own way - if you know what I mean.
In case you're wondering, I actually come from a legal background:o. I hope this isn't an even bigger shock!Debt at DMP start (1st Oct 10) £30,838k. Debt of DMP as of 11th May 12 £12,170k

Hi everyone, job is going well - thanks for asking HH
Things are more or less back to normal and only Barclaycard persisting with phone calls etc. Both myself and OH had cards and just to show how differently everyone is treated... on mine they froze interest and accepted the dmp straightway whilst poor ol' hubby is being bombarded with phonecalls, text messages etc. and has now received a letter from Mercers which CCCS said to file away. Then he received a statement from Barclaycard which said that as he is refusing to pay what he owes then they MAY take him to court and pursue legal proceedings etc. The statement showed his reduced payment from CCCS!! It all gets very confusing but thanks to everyone on here we are able to sift through and know what we should take notice of (which doesn't seem to be much) and what can be filed:)
OH just doesn't answer his phone anymore which can be really annoying at times when I need him!! (or is that just an excuse so he doesn't have to speak to me?? --- paranoid now lol!!)
Take care all

Mephista, as someone who has been made redundant recently after 10 plus years with one company. I have to say try and stay positive although it's hard and you never know what is around the corner.
I am in my 50's and thought that I wouldn't be able to find another job and would lose my home etc. etc. but I found a job within 3 weeks and it is far better than my previous one!!!
I am a great believer of things happening for a reason and I hope that you too find something soon!!!

Nope not that easily shockable, I'm Scottish so have dealt all my life with the fiscal and legal system differences, in Scotland we actually benefit quite a bit if you have debt, only 5 years to a debt being statute barred and Scotland has its own DAS system. The Scottish courts are different, different laws, different names different procedures, but you still can't enforce an agreement if you can't produce it!!! probably works anywhere in the world!!!!More than Two Years in

Try to keep positive Mephista you are going through a tough time but hope it works out for you as well as it did for Ellie. I too believe things often work out for the best in the long run but appreiate that might sound a bit flippant at the moment.

Hi everyone
Thanks so much for the words of encouragement. I'm still here and still getting paid so the job search continues.
I have a lot of faith so I'm trying to stay positive and hope that something good will come out of all of this and that I had to go through this to be a stronger person. I guess we all are now.
You guys are so good. In the midst of your own problems, you still find time to share out a group hug:blushing:. So hugs and kisses back to you all.
I look forward to getting on here and feeling better about things.
Thanks for your words of wisdom Ellie. I have been searching for about a month and half now and still had nothing but having said that, I'm still here. What company keep someone on in this day and age at my wages if they don't need them? Weird to say the least but I'm not complaining. I believe mysterious godly forces are at work here.
Good to see another Scottish pal on the line Pure Dead! Us Celts always stick together.
And as for you Louby, my sister in spirit, we will continue this journey together and I'll race you to the finish.:)Debt at DMP start (1st Oct 10) £30,838k. Debt of DMP as of 11th May 12 £12,170k
