    Good morning everybody

I received a letter from Santander yesterday informing me that they have received a communication from a 3rd party. YAY! We have progress, its only taken them 3 months to acknowledge.

However they tell me that I need to pay the agreed reduced payment amount via the branch or directly to them. No i'm not, you've already had your first payment via CCCS.

The agreed payment amount will not cover your arrears. Yes but as its a loan, the interest is front loaded so you've made your cash so just let me sort this out over a longer period.

What is it with these banks and communication?

Sooooo, we have the loan sorted, the last one is my overdraft which they (Santander) are still adding interest and charges AND asking me to pay into the account. I will try another letter (4th) to see if we can get them to behave, if I do its the last one and all creditors will be on board

    Hello Everyone

One very new and nervous poster here and one who also can't figure out how to start a new thread!!

I am about to sign up for DMP arranged through the National Debtline and have a million and one doubts going through my mind. Mainly, that suddenly my creditors are going to jump down my throat and start harrassing me even more and the ones that have frozen the interest when I negotiated lower payments (that I still can't afford) will now bang it on again.

Has anyone had any experience of how creditors react when a lower payment plan has been arranged personally and then basically the arrangement is then broken because a DMP is arranged which actually reduces the payments even further.

Many thanks if anyone finds this as I have no idea where it will end up!

    Welcome to the Paddlers Asylum

You can never 100% predict how the Preditors are going to behave. It may re stir up the woes or they may accept, they treat identical cases differently. Some days the luck is with you, come on here and celebrate with us. Some days luck isn't with you, don't let them grind you down, come on here for support and different viewpoints about finding a way around, we get there together. CCCS tell me that circumstances often change when people are on DMPs, they readjust accordingly. They are more likely to accept whne going through someone like CCCS or payplan. Above all remember the 2 DMP mantras, they can't have what you haven't got. The other is that they may be getting your money, but not your life.

On the right of the "quote" button, next to edit, is a multiple quote button. Testing it. I clicked the multi one, then the quote ones and then the reply. I think it worked :j

I have just a quick question, My husband is on a DMP but for the next three months his wages will be about 450.00 less than usuall, does anyone know if he contacts the people who do his DMP they would maybe be able to negociate smaller payment to his creditors for 3 months, actually it would only be for 2 months because his payment for june has already gone to them so we will struggle alot this month thanks for any advice I am quite worried about this as I feel it seems like things are just going along o.k. and then something else happens

    Morning All

Anna he has to speak to his DMP provider to get the payments temporarily reduced to a manageable level. Life happens on a DMP and remember it is not a legal agreement.

well done Gabs for the resisting of the shops, got my review next week, had to wait for a Scottish specialist.........should be interesting. Really don't want to put anymore in as would rather save for f&f, seems like a better way to get rid.

I am with Pay Plan and in their FAQ one of the questions covers that. They suggest you contact your Personal Finance Manager. Not sure about other companies but would bet they have the same option.

    Hopelessly Hopeful

I gave £5 to each of my daughters. I do have 10 creditors and i did think about given them a £1 each. hahaha.

At the end of the day i made 2 girls happy so that cannot be bad.
