This is the sort of annoying ups and downs we've all been through here. The first statements after the dmp starts can be hard to understand as they will still be issued at the same time as before, so the cccs payment hasn't reached yet in this case. Look out for the acceptance being cancelled as you didn't "pay on time" Might be worth calling Argos.

I think I might. I have spoken to them in the past and they are very helpful and understanding. Got to be worth a try.

The trouble is Mikon that these statements are computer generated at the same time of the month each time and until one or two DMP payments have gone through nothing will register.
3 months in and I still get statements sent out the same time as pre DMP.
It will all settle down after a payment or two. PP

I think I might just leave it and let thing bed in. At least the debt is not increasing which has to be a good thing.

  • Not sure this going to help you. My Barclaycard are still charging interest. I pay £157 a month and they add £51ish. When I think what I would have been paying and what they were charging in interest per month, must admit I've just gone with the flow. Might do something a bit further down the road in a year or two.

Also would like to thank everyone for the info about the review. I have put in for a sponsored move, going to see something next Tuesday. Seen it from the outside, love it and if the size inside is enough (down sizing from 2 to 1 bedroom, so rest of the place needs to be big) but it is £17 a week more, so a review would be useful.

I think your right about the computer generated statements. As mine has been reduced to 9.9% but the statement is still showing interest being charged at 27.9%. I did get a letter which was a variation to original agreement. I briefly read it and I think it relates to the change in the interest charges.

Last time I spoke with ARGOS the lady on the phone told me that I would continue to receive statements and other info but I had to ignore it as it was computer generated.

Computers have a lot to answer for....... but then again if we did not have them I would not you guys to support me through my DMP journey.

    Hi Ted,

Haven't a clue who was last dished out, was it Eyeopener? Could we perhaps add in temporary paddles until nat comes back??? To be honest I can't really remember what mine is, it may be 19????

Nitty, it usually takes around a week to ten days to get all set up, have you got your new bank account in place?

now for a giggle, MBNA phoned last night to offer me the opportunity to consolidate my ccs into a secured loan! Guy nearly passed out when I said, is this strictly within the financial guidelines since I'm on a DMP? Oh its Ok he says, I didn't know you were on a DMP, why not says Dopey, your in it?

Much spluttering and apologies, talk about left hand right hand, the left big toe isn't connected either..............
