To be honest Ted - self esteem has taken a huge battering being at home, money probs etc.... its a kind of can I still do the job thing...things have changed over the three years I've not been at work - I've only vaguely kept up, its also teaching a younger age group which i've wanted to do for a looonnngggg time so thats a challenge and will be a steep learning curve. It will be good for me but (and the dmp!) guess I'm just carping it!
Another excellent sig Ted!DMP mutual support thread member 371LBM Jan 2010DMP Paddle No 20 -
A real mix of emotions, really wanting to teach that age group but feeling a bit de skilled at the moment.? Sounds like everything else needs to be running pretty smoothly so that you will be able to concentrate on the challenge so getting the DMP up and running is one less thing on your mind.
You're right Ted! Thanks!DMP mutual support thread member 371LBM Jan 2010DMP Paddle No 20 -

thanks Ted, not feeling great anyway but the statement from BoS sent me off, they are soooo incompetant and unsympathetic. and greedy greedy greedy, just desparate to squeeze as much money as possible out of us, its actually quite disgusting when you think about it and totally unethical.
ok rant over, I've tired myself out now!More than Two Years in

Hi everyone
Been offline for a few days on a bit of a downer. So have not read previous posts but hope everyone is well.
Startig to get depressed with Barclays can someone help.
Barclays firstly refused my offer on the overdraft and today they have wrote to tell me that they have declined my offer on the personal loan I have with them.
They are passing it to their Debt Recovery Team who will contact me to discuss my offer. Does this mean the Debt Recovery Team may accept the offer. If Barclays will not accept the offer surely the Debt Recovery Team will not either then what happens.
Can anyone advise me.
Regards
Chin up.
HSBC are doing the same with me. My Pay Plan advisor and I have just had a chat on the phone and she has said they have no real option but to accept and not to worry. They like to play games and scare us in the hope we will try and pay them more. I'm sure that both Pay Plan and CCCS (others as well) have done their sums on our capability to pay and have worked it out, so that is what the creditors will have to accept or go without.
I get hope from the fact that in this thread NOWHERE has anyone said a company have NOT in the end ACCEPTED, is there anywhere, anyone has seen this happen? It is going to be drawn out for us but they will get their money back any other way doesn't make sense for them why would they turn down money?Paddle No 21 :wave:0 -

Had exactly the same problem with BoS, they raised my interest after I started the DMP and they were the ones who advised me to start one in the first place!!!!
Eventually I got Payplan to call them and they agreed to stop interest and charges but only because I intervened, however, I've only has official confirmation that this has happened with one of my 3 cards, awaiting the other two with some trepidation. PPLBM Jan 2010. DFD 2016.
Paddle No. 5.
Debt at DMP start (May 1st '10) £54.9k, as of 1st Oct '11 £33.2k. 40% cleared.
(3 F & Fs down, 5 to go!) :T0 -
Thank Prof
Its just the stupidity of it all that is getting me to-day, the endless round of writing/phoning/explaining/agreeing then you have to start it all again, you wouldn't run a normal business like that or none of your customers would deal with you and you'd go bust, and there they are still being awkward and using our money to do it, its unbelieveable.More than Two Years in
