my husban has a dmp which started las year he has a balance on and egg credit card his offer of payment had been accepted and charges had stopped but on saturday he had a letter from them stating that the arrears on the account must be paid by 29.6.2010 if not they would instruct their solicitors to start proceedings against him or ask a debt collection agency to collect on their behalf he is very worried and just wondered why this has happened does anyone have any ideas thanks very much

Several possibilities here, creditors review DMPs after a year and often different depts don't communicate with on another.

Egg have always been quite agreeable on the phone with me and have quite a good reputation at the moment I would get your husband to call them and find out what's going on, alternatively get Payplan/CCCS to do it for him.

In any event DCAs are seen by many as a step forward, there is no more interest and F and Fs come down to below 50%.

I am sure there is a reasonable explanation for this, but ringing the creditors is always a responsible thing to do and more often than not settles your mind. PP

    Hi everyone

Been offline for a few days on a bit of a downer. So have not read previous posts but hope everyone is well.

Startig to get depressed with Barclays can someone help.

Barclays firstly refused my offer on the overdraft and today they have wrote to tell me that they have declined my offer on the personal loan I have with them.

They are passing it to their Debt Recovery Team who will contact me to discuss my offer. Does this mean the Debt Recovery Team may accept the offer. If Barclays will not accept the offer surely the Debt Recovery Team will not either then what happens.

    Can anyone advise me.

    Regards

As you say Mikon 'they can't have what I haven't got'.
So they have little choice but to accept your offer.
Their alternative is to spend thousands on taking you to court only for a judge to look at your SOA and accept the DMP, why would they do that?
Hence, am sure they will accept.

    Hi Mikon,

I've been reading your previous posts over the past few days and you're doing fab, hardly recognise you from the early days!

Sounds like you've hit a 'dip' though in the rollercoaster journey.

All I can say, not sure if it helps, is that RBS did the same to me and passed me to their recovery team who then passed me to a DCA...hopefully this is where you are heading and you'll get more sense out of them!

CCCS always say they will just keep sending the money anyway.....ps shouldn't they be contacting CCCS, not you, to discuss any offers??

Hope you feel a bit better tomorrow.

Whenever I contact CCCS they just tell me that they will send the payment and for me to contact them with the new creditor. They never offer to make the call and barclays communicate with me via writing. As for the rollercoaster your right it has its ups and downs and at the minute i am in a downward spiral.

Do you have a template or is there one floating around. I am having problems with HFC Bank who i have 2 loans with. They have received 1 offer and accepted the other they say they have not and want to know what is happening. They have put my account on hold. So this letter would be handy.

Yucky and wet here too for our second day of the second week of half term with no means for us to go anywhere other than a walk away from home and then back again. Friends who live close enough to walk to have all bogged off on their holidays - so inconsiderate!?

Hope DS gets off ok PDD! And he lets you know when he has arrived safely!
Have a good day Ted - busy in a good way I hope!

    Morning all!!!

Not been about for a while, but nothing to report on the DMP front, LloydsTSB still haven't got a clue what they're doing and Capital One seem to have forgotten about us, not heard a sausage from them for months now, they don't even send us statements now, should maybe ring them but I'm enjoying the peace!!

True good luck re Payplan, what's the essay thingy for? sorry if I've missed it, have tried to catch up un the millions of pages but you lot chat too much!

Welcome to all the newbies, and hope everyone else is well
    :)
