Must get off here and go and manage the rowdy rabble!!!
:DGood news - although also scary(will have been a stay at home mum for 3 years in Sept!) - got job lined up for Sept - and childcare pretty much sorted too - it was just 2 days but is now 2 1/2 and might even go to 3:j:jWhich will mean we'll be able to tweek our budget to make it more realistic and also near enough double repayments bringing dfd from 12 to 6 years:j:jOh I hope nothing messes it up!

Hi Anna - I'm thinking the same as Ted - most likely to be the later option of the DCA, but no experience of this letter - as yet! Might be worth posting the question on the DMP Mutual Support thread on the DFW Forum if you haven't already.

    Afternoon

You've all been very chatty to-day!! Regret, i wouldn't go into any agreement outside of your DMP, the payday guys have to be treated like everyone else, if any of your other creditors got wind they could all withdraw and the DMP would fail, just not worth it now that it is getting up and running. Do you owe a huge amount to this company? I bet you don't and they are just trying to scare you into paying toutsuite, relax and tell em to talk to cCCS or Payplan(can't remember who your with.

Anna i think it just sounds like Egg trying to scare you, the answer here might be Profs please do send me to a DCA!!

True well done honey, why do all the hard work when someone else can do it for you??
Mama, well done the job, welcome back to the wage slaves!! and thanks for understanding my mummyworryworts!!!
and hugs to anyone else who needs them, had a bit of a day

    Hi everyone

Been offline for a few days on a bit of a downer. So have not read previous posts but hope everyone is well.

Startig to get depressed with Barclays can someone help.

Barclays firstly refused my offer on the overdraft and today they have wrote to tell me that they have declined my offer on the personal loan I have with them.

They are passing it to their Debt Recovery Team who will contact me to discuss my offer. Does this mean the Debt Recovery Team may accept the offer. If Barclays will not accept the offer surely the Debt Recovery Team will not either then what happens.

    Can anyone advise me.

    Regards

It sounds like Barclays are just following procedure here ie first port of call is the Debt Recovery Unit boldly going to try and scare you into paying more than you can afford.

Just sit and wait to see what they say and just repeat the mantra of......DMP......can't pay you anymore....etc....etc.

If they receive a payment soon they may back off BUT then they may pass the debt on to an outside DCA which means the game starts all over again.

Just wait and, I know its worrying but until you have something in writing or you know the next move there isn't a lot you can do.

Lets face it you ARE doing the right thing and paying them back, its just on your terms and not theirs.
