Rang halifax apparently DMP still in place but at interest rate of 1% until 1st March 2011. He said that interest is still charged on debt anyway which is what I can see on my statement. He said to just keep paying as normal. So after that I'm still confused .............time for a birthday drink i think. But feel quite pleased with myself for being brave enough to ring. :T

    Hey guys,

Sounds like a serious amount of :grouphug:'s are needed today.....

I'm now official with PayPlan :) with a surprising DFD of October 2014.....not sure how I'm feeling about relinquishing control to be honest, but hopefully its the right step.

Anyway, have some more :grouphug:'s, I'm off back to work and to think about stuff. "Speak" soon xxx

Payplan have been absolutely fantastic and Justabank (their online payment tracking thing) is amazing. Still can't believe the service they offer is free. Am sure you have made the right choice True. PP

    Hi everyone

Just to update you all on the Barclays saga. I posted on another thread about my dilemma with Barclays and here is the response if anyone is interested. It seems the banks have protocols to follow but it makes interesting reading and gives you an understanding of how the banks work. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/33598369#Comment_33598369

    Evening.

Ive just begun on my DMP journey with the CCCS.

I have posted all of my statements and payslips to CCCS recently and hoping to get the first payment out for the 1st July. Ive sent all of my creditors a £2.00 payment untill they get my first one from the CCCS.

The only trouble is though, Im getting zillions of phone calls from everyone, even though they are aware I am just starting a DMP. It doesnt bother me but I share my house and its kind of peeing off the other people in there the phone ringing every few hours with people asking for me. Is there some way that I can send a letter to companies asking them to remove my home number and just call me on the mobile?

Its so nice to read and seee that other people are in the same situation as me - I feel such a relief though, that I am finally getting my debt sorted!:j

  • What news from SCHITI your end Mikon?
They are still 'pending' over my offer, originally sent 6 weeks ago and resent 2 weeks ago.
I have given up on them, luckily I only owe them £2k (my lowest CC), complete SCHITI pants.

    Hi Mike

Welcome to the forum and to our thread. Well done for getting it sorted so far. The phone calls can be a pain although sometimes if you answer them, they will stop once you give them your CCCS number, name rank and number sort of stuff. There is a template on here to ask them to take your phone number off, although it can take some time for them to implement. I would frame it so that they are forced to write to you if they want to contact you as giving them your mobile number may just result in two lots of constant phonecalls. I am hopeless at producing threads with letters on but there is a search facility at the top of the forum and I usually manage to find what I'm looking for up there. Alternatively our thread finding Queen, Ted will be along and she'll find it for you!! Keep posting, you'll get great support on here, it will get better, it is a bit of a rollercoaster and we all have good and bad days, but sometimes having a bit of a rant does you the world of good!!!

You shouldn't have to put up with any phone calls, try this letter it worked wonders for me, I also rang all my creditors as well, the reference number is the key.

    Dear Sir/Madam

    Account number:

Since making the above mentioned agreement with you my circumstances have changed.

I do want to repay my debts but at the present time I am not in the position to pay the minimum monthly payments. I have recently joined Payplan who offer a non fee-charging debt management plan, which I hope to start on May 1st. (ID no: ********)

In the interim month or so I shall make a token monthly payment(s) of £2 as a sign of good faith. As soon as I have updated my situation and the Debt management plan is fully set up I / Payplan will contact you again.

As other people answer the telephone who are not aware of my situation, ie, my children. I would ask that all correspondence between us should be in writing.

I hope this is acceptable on a temporary basis.

    Yours faithfully
