Good, please do ;-) I think that flumoxed her. Told her they should be dealing with Pay Plan and that I would contact them and ask what needs to be done next. So roll on Monday. I feel your pain Andy!
MBNA have not accepted my offer but have stopped interest and have had only one phone call (so far from them), But HSBC started phone calls last week and were from the far east so difficult to understand. Fridays phone call was "Can you pay the minimum amount today or is there someone in your family you can borrow the amount of to pay the arrears? - (by this point I was spitting feathers!) and I explained my situation which they then checked and confirmed.
Saturday morning another phone call this time a lot more cheerful, and he said he understood about payplan and that the phone calls would stop as it was computer that was prompting them to make the calls.
Monday morning, another phone call from hong kong, same story blah de blah.
Thursday a phone call from the UK HOORAY! They basically tried to offer me a loan which I said i cannot possibly accept as per the terms of my DMP (they even said that this loan would not be classed as credit - how stupid do they think I am?) So they suggested getting the three amounts from the 3 accounts and putting it into one sum and paying this off with one payment via payplan rather than making one separate payment. (I have contacted PP about this but waiting to hear back.)
Friday morning another call from HSBC UK with basically the same phone call as the day before. He did however promise that the calls would stop (yeah right!)
Grrrrrrr...:p
Hey Jeddy! Glad you are back:Dand found us:j
They'll stop - can't believe they asked you about borrowing from a family member - me too and totally against their code of conduct very very naughty. They are the only ones to have phoned me since the dmp is up and running - and have promised to call me back in three months to see how things are going - how thoughtful!!!!!!!!DMP mutual support thread member 371LBM Jan 2010DMP Paddle No 20 -
Hi everyone,
Good to see you back Tedsd, I was beginning to think you'd won the lottery!:rotfl::rotfl:
Hello to Jeddy5 as well, I don't know if we've spoken before but I remember your name! Are you male or female? Just curious as I build wee images of folk in my head.......
So, I can't believe the quality of life I'm having on a DMP. When I used credit we had plenty of nice clothes and lots of "stuff" but no cash for the simple pleasures, fish & chips, fairground rides, fancy sweets on a day out etc etc, you know the sort of things I mean.
Also, I have mastered the art of designer dressing (the kids!) on a budget. I'm picking up plenty of boden/gymboree/joules bargains on ebay (possibly slight seconds?) and mixing with cheap basics from Tesco etc. So my daughter has applique boden trousers £12 cheaper than the catalogue, with a plain tshirt that cost £1.75! I used to buy the lot from boden, even socks!!
Off to enjoy some bacardi breezer and pringles.......Paddle no. 12

Exactly the same as me Gibbs!
I find if you are polite and very assertive they start panicking and get lost for words. Phone calls end a lot quicker too. :rotfl:
The foreign speakers are the worst as they are nearly yelling at me on the phone. I thought the one last saturday was going to start crying down the phone at me!Paddle number 22

Cheers Mama!
I told them exactly that on the phone and said that could I have their name so I could report them. They declined so I hung up.Paddle number 22

.......
Gosh, how true is this statement. We have started taking our own sandwiches on days out but then i'm also not worrying because I know we have a limited amount of money to do little things, for example, as we did last Bank Holiday, just to have five minutes on a merry go round. That may sound sad but it was great and my little one loved it.
Today we are going to go somwhere, don't know where yet, but it will cost us at most a fiver and I bet that is spent on ice cream!
Happy days at the moment and I know with self control and working together me n OH will get through this.
And, of course, with the help of you good people.:D
