i had a letter today from aqua saying someone would be visiting my house next week:eek:

i am very frightened about this but i rang them, explaining cccs will be contacting them if not already as they sent my offer on friday. i paid a token payment of £2 and that seemed to please them, they said no one will call now but until a plan is in place blah blah blah the ususal waffle.

i had another letter from santander so i am getting quite worrried about it all not being agreed. i havent heard from barclays though or any of the others so they must be thinking.

have been feeling a bit down about it all today. got paid yesterday and withdrew my money for the month, i find it easier to see the money going down it makes me want to hold onto it more lol. although quite depressing seeing the small amount i have to live off this month, ive also had to make payments to virgin media and sky for an unpaid bill grrr.

oh well moan over back to work!

    Afternoon everyone,

Got a letter in the post this morning saying URGENT YOU ARE IN ARREARS PLEASE MAKE AN IMMEDIATE PAYMENT. I phoned them up and explained that CCCS had contacted them and made an offer to which they replied yes i can see that on my screen we have accepted your offer and frozen interest and charges for a year.

What about this letter she said oh just ignore it its computer generated we are happy with your offer so is there anything else i can help you with No Goodbye.

So another creditor agreed but they did not let me know so REGRET70 some of your creditors may write and accept whilst others may not so do not worry. Give it a couple of more days. CCCS contacted my creditors on Thursday so they are starting to trickle through. Try not to worry. As for your virgin media bills it might be worth ringing them because they reduced my payments when i explained my situation.

Mamajojo I like a house that is lived in not a show house so do not worry.

ljm23k Sorry to hear about NEXT they always email me a statement when i make a token payment.

Thank you to all for the kind comments.

I think its worth remembering that its
rare for creditors not to accept the offers you make. In real terms they want the money so dont care how it comes to them. Ive gone from paying nearly £300 a month for one creditor to an offer of just £37 and they didnt even bat an eyelid! Most creditors understand that people cant always make payments (except next and crap one, it seems) but as a general rule things tend to go much smoother than you would expect.
If of course they dont accept, it doesnt mean they are gonna come round the next days all guns blazing and take everything you own. These things take time, the DCA will make contact first and you have a chance of agreeing terms with them. And even if it goes all the way to court, in most cases the court favours the person in debt, so long as they can reasonably show they cant pay any more than they are already doing so. Yes a CCJ is pretty nasty on your credit file, but most people who go through this come out of it not wanting credit in any form. After all the idea of this is to find a way of living without it.
Everyone gets there in the end.

    :)

Nataz makes a good point (or several)

If it comes to a CCJ for this Eyeopener then so be it, I do not want to see, look at or be part of a credit card or loan ever again. I have a mortgage but as soon as :o the DMP is done then the mortgage is next. I just want to get to a stage in life, before i'm too old, not to owe a single penny to anybody.

Thats the plan anyway, whether it happens is another thing entirely but after everything that happened with me and money I don't see why the hell it shouldn't happen!

Time to start selling on Ebay instead of buying me thinks.
