Morning All
Sun is still shining here, so puts me in a good mood to start with. Have also, for the first time, managed to actually work the budget thingy, without starving or being naked!!!! It only took me 40 years to work it out, wow must be a record. I have looked back, and boy was I truly truly dopey, i could batter a bank or 2 for the rotten advice over the years (consolidation my dear, end of all your problems!!!) put your money in a pension my dear (went bust!!!), this is a great savings vehicle (left without me), heigh ho, will kick a branch as I pass, see you all later........More than Two Years in

Cool news True, an extra £80 well done you :jYou'll be finished in half the time, so another :j to you
Not much happening today, DSs physio has delivered a rather massive standing frame for him, my house now resemebles some kind of special needs show room! At least I cant spend money on furniture and the like, got no where for it to go now:D
Hey PDD, whats your budget secret, mine has gone seriously bad this month and Ive still got the weekends food shopping to do and DDs 3rd birthday on Sunday! Yikes must must must try harder. Each month we've spent more rather than less, either that or things have gone up in price.

Morning
Busy day today, I have an exam this afternoon and one tomorrow so trying not to think "all things debt"!.
I still have one pesky creditor who doesn't understand the words "cccs", "haven't got it", "speak to them", "DMP". But to be quite honest i'm past caring about them, the major ones are on board, two others have gone quiet so i'm assuming they have accepted, so the tiny one can swing for now. Even if they get heavy (court) i'm going to put my piece to the Judge and make them feel stupid, although I hasten to add I doubt things will get that far.

Afternoon everyone,
Just arrived in and guess what 2 white envelopes on the doormat. My herat sank. I thought more creditors moaning.
Anyway picked them up and opened them.
Letter 1 - CCCS Welcome Pack, detailing my offers to creditors.
Letter 2 - Opened saw the M & S money letterhead and heart sank. Then I opened it fully and it read
"We are happy to accept the offer CCCS have made on your behalf and we will freeze interest & charges as long as we receive the first payment by 5/7/10 you will continue to receive arrears notice you need take no further action when you receive these"
It states that my final payment is 05/06/11 which I guess is the 1yr review point. Am I right on this.
11 Creditors
1 Creditor M & S Money accepted and froze interest and charges.
A Big Thank You to CCCS for getting me this far. A big thanks to all of you on this forum for helping me through my low points.

You know I was saying Santandurr had been the easiest to deal with?? Think they must have heard me and thought they'll take a leaf out of CrapOne's book  and be thoroughly unhelpful. ARGH!! Anyway, I think what has happened is that they are holding onto the account for another 25 days and then they are selling it on becuase my proposed payment is less than 1% of the outstanding balance. Unfortunately they can't just say that, they have to send a sh*tty letter and get me all wound up.
*deeeeep breath*
Sorry - just had to vent! Going back out in the sun now!!

Is there a percentage point at which they accept the DMP offer and secondly is there a percentage point at which they sell it on. I notice you mention that if the proposed payment is less than 1% of the outstanding balance they sell it on is this correct?

It's something I've seen mentioned on the boards before Mikon but today was the first time a creditor has mentioned it to me. The debt is relatively small at £700 and the payment offer I've made to them is £5 a month, so I think they are just making a fuss to be honest. We have another account with them at £2000 with an offer of £10 a month which they've accepted with no mention about 1% on that account. In short, I haven't a clue. I think they make it up as they go along just to confuse us.
Something the call centre monkey also said to me is that Santandurr WILL NOT accept repayment offers on a self-managed DMP (ie me) but they will accept immediately if they are contacted by CCCS/CAB. Not much use to me, but hopefully helpful for anyone else with Santandurr on their list.Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -
Hoping for more acceptances especially HFC my monthly payment to them was £6 the offer is £5 cannot see them knocking this back. But you never know. Santander is not one of my creditors but I am sure the info will be useful to others on here.

afternoon all
no DMP stuff to-day in the post, and I still can't be bothered to phone Lloyds, what is the point anyway, they won't do anything they say anyway.
Great news Mikon, True, good about the meter, these things are pesky and very unfair.
Nat no secret to the budget thingy, I've just turned into Mrs Sensible (aaargggh), do I need it or want it, its it expensive then I'm not having it. and I've saved loads on the shopping by just paying attention to what I'm buying, although I do tend to supermarket hop now as I'm on the road anyway, if I know something is good value I can pop in just for that. Use all the cheapy shops that previusly I'd have been too embarrassed to go to and have stopped buying stuff that I just fancied at the time, et voila!!! the budget works!More than Two Years in
