Hi AndyD
Sorry to hear about the temporary glitch remember that is all it is temporary.
I thought I would give you this link it show you the Lending Code that banks have signed upto. You might want to read section 9 it tells you the responsibilities bank etc have when a customer is in financial difficulty.
http://www.lendingstandardsboard.org.uk/docs/lendingcode.pdf
Hope you find it of some use.

Hello gorgous peeps!
Guess what, guess what! Had my first "phone call" on Saturday...think they called afew times beforeas loads of missed calls at home....
OH picks up phone "hello can we speak to AB please"
Oh "who is it"
"its a personal matter, when will she be available"
OH "a couple of hours"
tick, tock, tick tock...2 hours later...
phone rings "hello is that AB?"
"yes who is this please"
"its Egg...(heart thumping gudoom, gudoom"..
"your direct debit seems to be canx"
"yes I did it"
"why"
"cos I have started a DMP with payplan"....
tick tick tick tock......
"can we have your ref no.
"yes, it is blah blah"...
Egg says (wait for it....), well that's fine, you will get no more phone calls from us for 30 days, once we receive your offer from Payplan, we will stop all charges and interest and accept the offer:j:j:j:j!!!!!
AB falls on floor in astonishment...
OMG, took womans name but am absolutley shocked!! Hopefully theY don't go back on their word but for now, am soooooooo happy:T

Good News and well done for answering the phone. After speaking with CCCS today I am just going to advise the companies to contact CCCS as they are dealing with my DMP and give them the ref no.
Although the CCCS lady did say that the creditors should deal direct with them and I may not get any further calls.
Well Done and I hope your other creditors give you the 30 days grace, saying that there does not seem any logic in how they apply this rule.

Mikon glad you're feeling better. Kepp posting, we've all been there and as someone said 'got the t-shirt'!!!
Regret :jon feeling like your old (still young) self. Debt carries such a heavy weight doesnt it.
Nanny what you gonna spend your 61p on???? One of my old accounts are less than 10p and they wont let me close it cos I cant withdraw the money online. Cant be bothered to go into the branch and ask for a few pence... too embarrassing!

Thanks Mikon! I'm sorry to hear you have had a rough ride of late! But I hope things are on the up for all of us. I won't hold my breath with Barclays as I'm sure they'll go nuts but at least I can rub Egg in there faces if needs be (get it?!:D)...
I think the less of a conversation you have with them the better now. CCCS are experts so I think you are right to direct your creditors their way. Creditors, as you say, are a law unto themselves and the less conversaton we have with them, the better. I'm just going to be polite but firm. Payplan told me dmp is a team effort and I need to make sure I toughen up for the ride (I am too nice usually:)).
Finally, I must say I am sorry to everyone that I am not able to post as much as some on here. Rest assured you are all in my thoughts on a daily basis and I am always sending you support vibes!!:ADebt £22k (ish):eek:LBM April 2010DFD - work in progressPaddle no. 26"whether you think you can or you can't, your probably right"0 -
Well
After saying that I hadn't had a the daily letter "thump" it seems postie must have got lost because two turned up..
One from Santander saying "pay up or the child gets it."
One from M & S saying "thanks Eyeopener of course we will accept your pathetic offer, cos were nice"
I was told by Santander to expect letters like this until the first DMP payment so thats fine but I still get shocked that lenders actually do respond in a positive way to all this.
So thats all the major lenders onboard and the smaller ones have gone quiet (which in my paranoid state is always worrying). But the smaller ones make up about 10% of the total so not too bad really.
I've spent the day doing an audit of all the stuff i can sell (cds, books, dvds) to get money together for an emergency fund or saving for a final payment in a few years time. Could make a few hundred quid but I want a lot of it gone cos it was all bought on credit and it just reminds me how stupid i've been. So its all going on ebay, music magpie, some specialist book sellers, anything to get RID.
And I have to prove to my OH that I have changed my ways.
Onwards and upwards.I'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013

I have a Barclays Card, Barclays Loan & Barclays Overdraft and to date they have been the best immediate hold and removed tel no. at first request. I must admit that I have updated them regularly and they just told me that they will await CCCS to contact them. My 30 days is up at on the 29 May so we will see what happens after that.
Professor Pat Pending advised me in the early days to keep in regular contact and I have and it seems to work. I must admit that I have been firm and my OH has been very firm.
CITI have continued to add interest but what I have not got they cannot have.
I must admit I feel weight has been lifted off my shoulder now I know that CCCS have written and made offers to all my creditors.
So stay firm and refer them to CCCS and if you write I always put this on the bottom of my letters
I have requested both verbally and in writing that my telephone number be removed from all records and that correspondence be conducted in writing as I have children in the house who are not aware of my financial situation and it is difficult to discuss this matter on the telephone in front of them. Could you please make sure my telephone number is removed from all my records/accounts, as I have received telephone calls from your advisors.
If you have any queries regarding this account please contact CCCS on 0845 122 0225 quoting the Ref No.
Good Luck.Mikon Riding the DMP Rollercoaster full of ups and downs but i will get to the end. :T:j

Gooood Morning poppets!!
Well I have two new shiney metersawesome, no more emergency trips to the shop :rotfl: now to see just how much money it can save me - I'm betting at least £80 a month (which would double my DMP payment :j) so I'm going to run them for a quarter before I rejig my SOA.
I've set myself a mini-target - I want to clear off Horible HFC by DH's bday which is 3rd July. I haven't a clue what the balance is because they are really useful and only send a statement once a year at Christmas (how lovely of them) but best estimate is about £350. They've been thoroughly useless and ignored everything I've sent them so I've decided its got to go!
:grouphug: Hugs all round guys - in celebration of success, in anticipation of acceptance and in case of emergency :rotfl:Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840
