Hello and Welcome TakingControl!
Sounds like you're well on your way with your DMP and apart from just Barclays all is going well..... Agree with you, if I'd known about CCCS etc and these boards I would have been debt free by now, instead, fear of admitting I was not managing just lead to more loans and here I am...still better now than in 10 years time... as a bonus, I've met some fab people on here who've laughed with me on the highs and supported me on the (usually Crap One) lows!
Keep posting and letting us know how you are getting on.:)
Ted
Thanks for the warm welcome Ted :hello: I am certainly hoping to stay on track and once Barclay Card Loans have passed on my debt and I got the DCA details, I am hoping to do a F&F (the outstanding amount for the loan is £1317) with the help of my mum. Which would free up more money on the DMP which means Debt Free earlierLBM 11/2009 Total Debts 11/2009 £44624 with DFD 2015

Hi Gabrielle,
Wow, Cyprus! Hope the weather's kind to you over there!
When I've had really tough things to say or I know I need to get stuff off my chest to someone close to me, I've written a letter. Then at least you get to say what you really want to say, the person has to read and hopefully digest and you don't get interrupted!
I think a letter is the way to go followed by, hopefully, a hug:) or at least the basis for constructive discussion. Otherwise, with people you love, it can be difficult to hold it all together whilst you try and tell them how you feel.

Hi everyone,
Hope you are all having a good week!
Welcome, Taking Control:hello: May I call you TC?
Sounds like you are really well organised and, Taking Control:D. I too have a Barclayloan, card and overdraft:eek: and I am eager to see how they react once they see I am on a DMP. I have been a Barclays customer for years and I think they're gonna be shocked when my salary doesn't appear in "their" account at the end of May (gulp).
Hiya True, hope you make some dosh on Ebay. Be careful with the oil!
Ted, hope you haven't had anymore calls today!
Ljm, great news on tax credits! It all adds up.

Hi all
Comforting thread indeed.
Just had my first interview over the phone with CCCS and they were so lovely.
After loosing my partner six years ago I've managed to get into debt to the tune of 17K.
I finally took my head out the sand and made the call!!
I am off tomorrow to open my basic bank account and get the ball rolling.
I am currently with Barclays , any advice on where to go for my next account?0 -

I'm with Barclays too currently and have been with them 18 + years , what experiences have people had then when your salary no longer hits their account?0 -
Hi everyone and welcome taking control and good egg! Hope there aren't any other newbies I've missed.
So, I have been inspired by everyones ebaying and decluttering and decided to get stuck in myself, dodgy ankle and all!!
WHAT A HOUSE FULL OF CRAP!!!!:rotfl:
The worst thing is all the crap was bought on credit. I have enough spare pillows to take in a football team. Of course with young kids, you need 1 or at most 2 spares to be prepared for v bugs, but I have at least 6:eek: Also tons of patchwork quilts (from the shabby chic time) seasonal table linens (shipped from USA) and about 500 towels and a couple of dozen scatter cushions. Don't get me started on the kids toys and clothes.......
OMG I need a proffessional declutterer!!:rotfl:
The hardest bit is parting with the baby stuff, its like admitting the end of an era:(
Anyway, enough ramblings for now......Paddle no. 12

hello me again,
i really need some advise and reassurance today. i am currently setting up a dmp with cccs, they emailed me yesterday asking for extra information which i have sent today, however today i have recieved a second default letter from natwest for me and my husbands joint account overdraft. I had spoken to them on 28th may and made a token payment and they said they would put it on hold for 28 days until they recieve a letter about the dmp. however they keep ringing me and now i have a default letter threatening court. to add to it my husband has a sole account which they have now blocked so he cannot withdraw any money, and they will not unblock it until the dmp is set up, so he is so angry with me now.
i have also recieved a letter from triton credit services threatening court action, i rang them and advised of my dmp, the man said he would wait for the letter from cccs.
i rang cccs in a panic and upset however they said there systems were down and they cant help at the moment.
im on my lunch break from work, luckily i can come home for lunch, but im sat in tears and have been physically sick. i am so scared of going to court and bayliffs i dont know what to do.LBM- may2010:A0
