I think hes on about being able to "minimise" the application to do something else.

My Nokia 5800 Xpress, is able to do both at the same time, as it does "minimise" applications

Adam91 clearly hasn't used a modern computer on a slow mobile phone network connection.
  • I've got one here in the office that was imported from the US - after a bit of a play, until a larger array of killer apps come along, it feels very much like a nice but not at all necessary large iPod Touch...

For me, it doesn't create a category - I have a smartphone, I have a laptop. This is too much of an in-betweener to be essential. Maybe for someone with only one or none of these devices could there be a possible role for the iPad in the home or on the move, but I doubt I'd ever need one.

Time will tell if v.2 improves on connectivity and features as well as the extent of iPad specific apps available. But for now, it's a lukewarm response.

Haha, obviously not as my mobile broadband is rather fast and so is my home broadband and i never mix the too as there is no need tbh?

And i'm pretty sure receiving emails on the ipad will work well been on facebook, so your example is not quite up to scratch ;)
