Apple doesn't sell product - they just sell "I feel superior" feeling :D
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

    They didn't copy everything.

For instance, they're going to keep the 185,000 apps.

apparently only the 3rd gen touches and the iphone 3gs will support multitasking.

i feel sorry for those who bought the '3rd gen' 8gb touch with 2nd gen h/w which wont be able to multitask.

It looks like i'll be staying on a jailbroken 3.1.2 for quite a while

Is it just Marty here who is backing the ipad? I wouldnt dare buy this. Saying this, Ive never bought any thing from Apple and the only reasons I ever seem to think of purchasing something from Apple are because they:
look better(in this case maybe or maybe not)
They save space(in this case not at all)
They have a better OS than Windows(But theres also linux ...)

Ive never had a "need" for an Apple ipod, as my mobile phone is capable of playing both music and video, Ive never had the need for an iPhone, as some of the apps can be downright stupid, and rivals such as Nokia have a fair good apps themselves-Ive downloaded some, but rarely use them

Ive never bought an Ipod touch, as its just an Apple iPhone without the ability to call

Ive never bought an Apple imac/macbook etc... as they're downright expensive, and I only "need" a netbook-that Im using right now

I have however used an Apple mac, and I can say that the "feel" is a lot nicer, but I would never purchase one

I do remember when some(apple fanboy) asked what phone I had. I replied that I had a Nokia 5800 Xpress. He had an Apple iPhone, and said mines s**t, because its not made by Apple

Fair enough, I dont "need" a Nokia 5800 Xpress either, but I wouldnt dream of having a mobile without wiFi, and it came with my contract

    Fanboys eh?

To be fair, those things are pretty hard to add in a software update.

You mean, is it the only person here who has actually used one that's backing it?

Ive used ipods, Ive used an iPhone, Ive used Apple macs,Ive used an iPod touch, Ive used an Ipod and the only thing made by Apple that I think is actually(kinda) good are the macbooks.

I do not see the point in every thing else(except maybe for the macs, and to a lesser extent, maybe the iPhone)

Can I ask, are you an Apple fanboy? What do you think of Windows Linux products-well you cant call most of linux distro's "products"

Please, also do tell me why I would need to go out and buy an (overpriced) Apple ipad, instead of sticking with my £280 netbook? As someone said, they would be good in hospitals, not for much else though...

    Congratulations.

Just because you personally don't need something does not mean that it is pointless (unless of course the universe was contrived solely for your benefit, in which case I apologise).

For instance, I think everything about netbooks is pretty awful, but I don't think they're pointless. Clearly someone, somewhere likes them (such as your good self).

I like Apple's products if that's what you're trying to ask.

    They're OK.
Please, also do tell me why I would need to go out and buy an (overpriced) Apple ipad, instead of sticking with my £280 netbook? As someone said, they would be good in hospitals, not for much else though...

For starters, the iPad starts at $499 (£329).

Regardless, no one said you have to buy an iPad.

You might want to buy an iPad if you ever get fed up with the terrible performance and ergonomics of your netbook.

But you don't have to. I'm not going to force you, and neither is Apple.

If you don't like the iPad, don't buy it.

    Simples.
