Crayola- Be careful though mate. Because I contested a speeding fine that was on a Dual Carriage way, which as far as I am aware is 70mph, however it turned out it had a 40mph limit! I wrote to the police etc and in the end got a summons for not providing driver details.
Therefore if they can't do you for the offence, then they'll try and do you for not sending off details stating who was driving at the time.
Also, by law you are entitled to see the photographic evidence, however I think they don't have to send it to you, normally you have to go to the station and view it.
Some of you have mentioned those 'Speed detectors' aparantly although they are legal to buy and sell, they are illegal to use. I tried the one in Argos and found it inconsistant and friends have said that they also pick up CCTV cameras!!
Just be Careful, cause if they can Screw you they will!!!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
The exact law is that are legal to own and use, but it is illegal to act upon the information given by one. So you can see where the cameras are, but you are not allowed to brake when it beeps.

If you take it to court you will get to see the photos/ videographic evidence, I think you may be able to see them without but this link is helpful for advice:

cheers Jimmy H, I replied immediately telling them it was me driving and that I could clearly remember the incident
i even fully described the other car so surely they must be able to see that car in the photo(s)??
they have on several occasions refused to show me the photos until the court hearing !
never been to court in my life n am terrified - but i dont see why i should shell out £60 (i dont even hav this money spare a month) without any "proof"
and the thought of having 3 points on my licence keeps me awake at night !!!
no offer off an awareness course for me
prob cos i was "supposedly" doing 40 in a 30 zone
to top it all off - if i get found guilty my name will be in the local paper

Probably hoping you'll bottle going to court and pay the fine so then they won't have to show the picture of you going at 30mph.
Tell them you'll look forward to seeing them in court and look forward even more to seeing them look stupid when they can't produce the evidence..0
