Kyle, don't panic it'll be fine. I never brown meat before putting it in the slow cooker and it's always worked out ok.
  • Afternoon Guys!

Having another lazy day, as still not feeling great:o

DW has been emptied though and toilet cleaned:D OH & DD managed to get alot of weeding done before it started raining this morning-so thats good. The lawn really needs a good cut...looks like a jungle out there.

I made some crumble topping in the food processor whilst perched on my stool in the kitchen. The crumbles look lovely. Will cook them up later and freeze one and eat the other;) Just had my lunch of left over mash, veg and grated cheese made into a bubble and squeak. DD has 2 sausages and oven chips cooking in the oven whilst it was on.

DD had a great time at the Theatre yesterday and didnt get back til 8 as they went for a meal afterwards. Nephew and fiance didnt leave till gone midnight as they were telling us about the wedding and how some members of the family have been a pain....my inlaws.....never:rotfl:

Anyway, Ive got to go and snooze, my tablets are kicking in.

    Hugs to all.

    I'm skiving again. :D

I'm just waiting for DH to finish doing some cutting off of pipes below floorboards, and then i will be chief skivvy at passing him planks of laminate floor. i keep looking outside and it is beautiful, and wish we had made plans for at least one fun day this BH weekend, but i suppose we may have a bit of time for that once the decorating is done.

I've got a chicken hotpot going in the slow cooker which is starting to smell deliious.

The rest of this week and the hols is going to go far too quickly. I am babysitting my nephews for the week while my sister watches my mums shop. I think i will be knackered. At this rate i will be glad to go to school again for the rest. I know exactly what you mean topher about not wasting the last week, but i'm afraid mine is already taken from me. :p

snowy - let me know if you spot any bargains at dunelm as i will be going probably next weekend now, although i am not brave enough to make my own curtains.

will pop on later this evening when we have got a bit further.

    Michelle. xx

Back form the carboot! got a couple of good buys but there was a lot of market type stalls there which I don't like.
I bought 2 Patricia Cornwell books and a lovely key cupboard with chicken wire on the front at 50p each!:D OH bought an enamel type bowl for his pigeon corn. Some of my OH's work mates had a stall selling food stuffs and they gave us some Kallo stock cubes(tomato and herb) for making soup with and also some guava fruit juice!

Later we're off to Newport, near Telford to pick some pigeons up which OH has just bought ready for breeding next year.

OH is finally aiming to go back to work tomorrow after 2 months off with a bad back!:j he's a lot better although not completely cured.Still waiting for his Xray results which are due the end of this week.

Have a lovely bank holiday all!

    Back later;)
    Do what you love :happyhear

    Hi Michelle

In the end I decided not to go too far today...the Dunelm Mill shop is about 30-35 miles away, and as it has been terrible rain off and on today I thought I'd be happier at home. I've been surfing the internet looking for my Miele cat & dog vacuum cleaner using Martin's guide about shop bots and cash back sites. What a nightmare and waste of time...it seems the majority of retailers are based in the UK mainland...excuse me but isn't UK mainland actually GB...the UK is GB and N.Ireland!! So when they say they deliver all over the UK what they mean is they deliver to GB and not to N.Ireland. Grrrr!! Oops that's a bit confusing!! Think I'm going to do it the old fashioned way and physically go to the shops, and take the thing home in the boot of the car!

Anyway, I have to get my curtain poles and tracks first...I'll be taking the curtain making very softly softly and tackle the smallest window first. I'd go for ready made but find that neutral, brown, beige and creams a bit uninteresting. I'm more a red, yellow and orange type, and maybe some turquoise or duck egg blue, but there isn't much choice in ready made with that palette.

Ooo time to get off my bum!

    See you all later.

Now I know where Nels has been hiding :rotfl:

Actually, forgot to say that she's a terrible influence on me. When I was at Tesco's yesterday I noticed they had pukka pads on sale (not a normal line at my store) so I just had to have one ......... well, three :o

Got back from DS2's party - having consumed 2 coffees and some kiddy nibbles. I decided that 11.55 was a tad too early for wine - had to at least get past midday :D (although it was offered). Then when I looked at my watch, it was STILL 11.55!! Guess who will be getting a new battery next time I'm in town :D

Ok, load No 8 about to leave the WM and more to go in (or am I on load No 9 since yesterday? It all blends into one after a while. I just know that I have one humungous pile of ironing in my bedroom now :()

    Catch ya later ;)

    DISASTER!!!!!

One of the gerbils has escaped :( We think the topflap of the cage was not shut properly (either it came loose as Mr TM carried it back from the neighbours last night or they hadn't closed it tightly) cos DS2's gerbil is nowhere to be found. I think she went during the night too, so she could be anywhere. I have no idea where to start looking either although all obvious places have been checked. I fear we will never see her again, but I have laid down some gerbil-enticing "traps" around the place.

I don't suppose it helps that I have 2 noisy boys looking for her - which will only drive her deeper into her hidey-hole. Ah well, gives me a break from the ironing, although I'd rather not have to look for a gerbil.
