  • Hello, again! Thanks for your best wishes. I'm now feeling a bit better. Went back to bed, and fell asleep for another hour, so don't feel too bad. Stuffy nose now, only.

PenPen's law of the weather has triumphed again! I treat rainy days when I want to get out, the way I treated the children when they did something unacceptable - ignore the bad behaviour! As with children, when it sees that it's getting no attention, it behaves, and I can get out and enjoy!

Had breakfast in bed, chosen willow hurdles for fencing, and trying to choose curtain hold backs (only had curtains up for 2 years - they're full length, so need something). Am going to throw open all the windows, to get rid of any nasties, air my duvet out of the window. We're going into the garden (to clear in preparation for the fence) then out for a bike ride this afternoon. May go to ClumberPark, but the last time I went there was Easter BH (DH was abroad on business) and we got stuck in traffic near the airport, and a journey that should have taken less than an hour, took over 2.

Out for a veggie curry with friends this evening.

Morning everybody - and happy Bank Holiday! :D

I decided that I was not going to make any plans for today in advance, just see what I fancied doing when I got up. But as I feel re-energised (I was KNACKERED yesterday) I think I'm off to the Proms again. This afternoon's concert is various popular bits 'n' pieces, then this evening is some more Mozart (there's loads of Mozart at the Proms this year, as it's the 250th anniversary of his birth). They always do 2 concerts on the Bank Holiday.

Welcome back TM, glad to hear you had a nice holiday and a nice birthday!

((Hugs)) to all who need them :)

Hope everybody enjoys their day. I'm off now for some fresh air and a slow meander into town :)

    Rzl xx

    Morning all!!
Up early this morning full of enthusiasm but it didn't last, sat on sofa with cup of tea and laptop instead of ironing, gardening and cleaning bedroom which was the original list.

Went to IL's yesterday with dd's boyfriend, he got 100% full approval from everyone, it was wonderful to see him with my little neice(6) who showed him her fossil and gem stone collection and gave his leg a big hug when we left!. FIL told us they are buying the Laptop for dd's 18th birthday ready for uni. which is one less thing to worry about.

Hope you all have as good a day as possible, weather and sickness permitting.

We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.

Quick break after spending fiteen minutes doing the bathroom - it's amazing how easily it can be thoroughly cleaned if you swish and swipe a la flylady every day.

Smashing Blouse, sorry you're going through this, Mum has ulcerative colitis and I know she regards the tests as sometimes worse than the disease. BTW my eyebrows rose when I read DD10 because I thought you meant she was your 10th daughter, then realised you meant age.:rotfl:

Lynsayjane - sorry to hear about your problems too, I have an underactive thyroid as well and a constant battle against my weight, no matter what the docs say about the thyroxine being a direct replacement I've never met anyone who feels as well again as they did before or who can lose weight easily (and believe me weighed 8stones and could eat what I liked before).

Better go 15 minute break up, see you later.

    Hi all

Folks have all left. got the house back to ourselves.

    DH bathing kids.

Topher - sorry I didn't get back on yesterday. One day Gilbert will turn up and realise it's me he wanted all along! Love the Emily books too - but Anne is the original.

I suppose Marilla is the ultimate OS icon!

i know what you mean, it doesnt take much to get me tired. i used to be able to go out on a friday and saturday night and still work all weekend...not likely these days, even tho i've been on meds for over four years. and i still get really weepy, i can cry at the drop of a pin!

i've done well with the weight tho, i've lost about three stone since being diagnosed. my mum thinks this is a problem i've had for many years as when i was a kid i started putting on weight for no reason, at the time it was put down to puppy fat by docs etc and no tests were done, then it just never shifted. it's not been easy to lose the weight, i go to the gym five times a week, but i've done it! :j recently tho i've been strugglin and the docs haev said it could be my thyroid, guess i just need to keep trying. and since i'm about to get free membership it should get easier, or at least cheaper!

Hi everyone, Happy Bank Holiday to everyone!
We were camping this weekend with the kids in Pately Bridge. OH has loads of work to do so we came home a day early. I was very pleased about that too when I heard the thunderstorm last night. It is raining here now again so I think we made the right decision (probably glorious in Pately Bridge!)

I have a list of things on ebay at the moment, due to finish midweek and I have quite a few bids on them already. I think I'll list some more today so I don't have a lul in my activity. It never ceases to amaze me. Things you think are worthless sell immediately and what you think is the good stuff lingers unsold.

Plans for today are to do some ironing, get my friend's books done and do some work for my ECDL advanced excel exam on Friday.

I don't know what dinner and tea will be, I'll have to have a look in the freezer.

Have a good day everyone. Hope everyone who is under the weather is feeling better soon.

  • Good morning everyone!!!

Just had a bath and am sat here in my towel drinking coffee and having a surf :D Have just looked at Martin's cost cutting boiler/heating cover link - am going to phone up tomorrow as they're closed today - £9.89 per month for boiler and central heating cover - not too bad (I hope they take on a 15 year old boiler - fingers x'd)

Not too much planned today - might gut the kitchen cupboards and fridge - then again...........

Ronankfab - hope you enjoyed the All*Star cup - was watching it all day yesterday, and looking out for you - then it dawned on me I don't know what you look like :rotfl:

    B: Cereal
    L: ?
    D: Meatballs and spaghetti

Have a great day everyone - byee
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)
  • Thanks snoozer.

It is UC that I have, had it now 12 years. I have a Colonoscopy every 3 years, but last year they struggled to get the venflon in, so I did not get enough sedation, and woke up halfway through in agony. So a bit worried this time ,as last week they could not get any blood. My arms look like pin cushions.!!!!
