Good Morning all!
Up early with snuffly nose and sore eyes - think it's some sort of allergic reaction, which I have from time to time. Think it's triggered by house dust, which is quite possible, given the whirlwind flylady I was yesterday! I love having my children around in the school holidays (and my boss lets me take August off, as long as I work up the hours), but it's amazing how much more I can get done when I'm in the house on my own. This allergy will be fine by mid morning, but it's made far worse lying down, so I'm better being up.
Will be tackling my paperwork (a major hotspot in the Penguin household) while DH gets a couple more hours, then we'll have breakfast in bed (HM bread and HM marmalade, and coffee). We were hoping to hit the garden today, but it's raining   (typical BH weather). So I reckon we'll do a bit of planning for next year (seed list, etc) and possibly some internet shopping (fence panels, curtain tie backs).
Have a great Bank Holiday Monday!

Morning PenPen and JockettUK! sorry to hear you're not 100% this morning PenPen, hope the snuffly symptoms go away soon. JockettUK, hope your ex manages to negotiate Aylesbury's roundabouts and eventually find the correct house and return your DD to you.
It's cold over here, haven't looked outside to see if it's wet as well, but it's a bank holiday so the chances are rather high. My plans for today are all in pencil. I need to go to Dunelm Mill to look at fabric for curtains, but more importantly buy curtain poles or tracks. This is pencilled in as it's a 40 mile or so trip away. It's the most economical place I can find for fabric - the local stores seem to be charging £15+ per metre. £3 per metre is more my budget. If I don't make it today then there is always next weekend.
The house is a bit whiffy due to my incinerating some soda bread farls yesterday evening. I burnt them good and proper - they should be baked on a griddle, but I used a frying pan as I don't have a griddle. The bread hit the bin as it's like charcoal with a squishy middle. I want to have a another go, think I'll have to be a lot more gentle with the heat.
I also need to go out and track down the remaining elusive ingredients for my Christmas cake, then with a bit of luck it'll actually be in the oven today.
Other plans...oh the usual ironing, floor cleaning, hotspot clearing and car washing which is all so unavoidable. What an exciting bank holiday weekend! It still beats w*** with a big stick though!
Bye all, happy bank holiday!

Morning all. Woke at 5.15 and couldn't get back to sleep, so got up so DH can have a lie-in. BM on overnight timer making 5 seeded bread (with only 2 seeds) so nothing to do until either
a The BM buzzer goes or
b The kids wake up
Off for a browse now, will catch up later,

Morning all
So much for a lie in - DS1 woke me up around 6.30 by climbing in, then proceed to fidget and complain that "daddy's snoring"! Hmmm, once I was so far awake I couldn't go back to sleep, he decided he'd sleep, so I've got up
Anyway, I can confirm that it's typical BH weather in Lancahire too - we had an almighty thunderstorm and loads of rain last night. It's still raining but the sky is trying to clear.
PenPen - I know what the allergic reaction thing is like. I get allergic rhinitis too - often caused by dust and it's a pain. Hope it clears up soon.
snowy - soda farls  I especially love the treacle ones, toasted with butter. I think I still have some in the freezer .........
Anyway, I washed and dried 5 full loads yesterday and have another load in the WM ready for drying. Still got several to wash tooOMG .... the ironing  Have no idea what to do for tea, but I have some chicken breasts in the fridge, so I may do those .... unless I save them for tomorrow when I babysit next door's two.... Decisions, decisions
DS2 has a party up the road at 12 so I'll take him. I may even get to stay and have a glass of wine, cos I haven't had a chat to the parents for a few weeks.
Spoke to Nelski last night - she's busy, busy, busy at work, including weekends at the moment, in case any of you were wondering. I'm sure she's as OS as usual :rotfl:
OK, off to make a cuppa, then browse some more. Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning All
Hope everyone is ok as I didn't manage to get back on yesterday, so big :grouphug: to everyone anyway.
Well the fun never stops in my house , am off to w**k again today, never did manage to get off early yesterday either. Oh well at least I have next weekend to lookforward too
Must try and find something in the freezer for tea before I leave as I have not managed to visit Mr T's in over a week, well at least Sept grocery challenge will start on a good note.
Ticklemouse - glad to see you back
Snowny - good luck with the curtain trip , I've done the measuring for my next set of curtains ( front door and my bedroom ), I was also planning a trip to Dunelm on Tuesday ....... let me know if there's any bargins
PenPen - sorry you are not feeling too good - hope it clears up
Soba - :hello:
Jockett - hope your ex OH manages to get your DDD back. I know what you mean about shift patterns, when OH gets up at 5am, me and the cat have too as well IYKWIM
Well have a wonderful Bank Holiday to all you lucky people who don't have to work and
:grouphug: to everyone who does have to work
Bye

Morning all!!
got back from 2 weeks in france on friday so currently drowning under a pile of washing and ironing and when seeking relief from that catching up on the 22 pages of threads that have sprung up in my absence!!
not got a clue whats going on or gone on so hugs to all that need them etc.
well i think its typical BH weather here in bristol.......although not raining at the moment it has clearly chucked it down recently.
18 month old currently wandering around singing 'ee-i-ee-i-oh-peepo' over and over at the top of her voice then hysterically laughing......its going to be one of those days i can tell.
3.5 year old happy as pig in poop as mummy has discovered that playhouse disney programming is on ABC1 in the mornings!!!!....for those of you on basic cable etc subscriptions check it out!!!0 -
Hi everyone - I haven't been on for a few days so I hope everyone is well. If I've missed anything major could someone let me know please? I'll probably be online all day if I attempt to catch up!!!
We've been busy in the garden trying to get some more fencing done.
Did a bootsale yesterday - from 7:30 until 1pm and took £52 despite selling 2 brand new suticases, lots of Vtech toys (all in excellent condition) and lots of other stuff. People seem to want things for jumble sale prices here (mind, it was better than the last one I did where people were offering 50p for £30 vtech toys, lol)
The weather was gorgeouse - so hot in fact I started to burn! I ended up putting up a brolly to keep the sun off me!!!
Last night however we had a downpour so heavy that you could feel it hitting the house and the noise was amazing! It even woke the dog who barked like crazy at it!
Pen pen - I hope your allergy has calmed down.
Jockette (soz, had to edit to add this as hadn't merged when I typed and I hadn't seen the other thread!!) I hope you're settling in nicely in your new home. Have you unpacked all the boxes yet? I unpacked our last 2 years after we move, lol.
Snowy - hope you find your magical ingredient
Soba - love the avatar - my DS1 is crazy about the old VW bus things, if I won the lottery then that's what I'd get him!
TM - I hope your new business is doing well.
Amanda666 - hope you have a good day at w***
LTS- Hope you had a good time in France.
Hopefully off to look around a booty today (hunting for tightwad gazette amongst other things, lol) and then to designer outlet to buy some seeds for our bread.
Hugs to all,
Kaz x
Ps - Smashin blouse, had a quick scan of yesterdays thread, I do hope you're feeling better today. After eating all that muck that doesn't agree with you I bet you'll almost be glad to take that medicine. It'll be like you used stardops on yourself, lol.January '06 Grocery Challenge (4th - 31st) £320.Week 1 - £73.99 Week 2 £5.10 (so far)
Someone burst my bubble and I lost the plot so no idea what I spent now...Other Jan :- Petrol £20.41, Clothes £8.50, House £3.I will try to work it out.
