Afternoon to everyone.
Spent alot of yesterday running around cleaning and made sure the house was spotless before i went to bed yesterday so don't have too much to do today. Which is good really as i feel awful. I think i may be coming down with an end of season cold, daughter seems to have it as well, so all i want to do is snuggle up and go to sleep but with the two boys full of energy that is proving impossible:rolleyes:
Basically i am hoping to direct most of today from the comfort of the sofa:o
Will be making a full roast dinner and a plum and apple crumble to follow so will be saving my energy for that.
The upside is OH will actually be home in time for dinner today, a very rare treat, in fact him just being home from work is a treat as he has been working nearly every hour/day sent this summer holiday. Once he is home and dinner is all finished i will leave him to deal with the children and house whilst i drag myself up to bed to try and get some rest.
Hopefully i will feel alot better tomorrow.Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. Johnny Cash

Everybody sounding quite chilled out today, hope those at work and shopping for school supplies get the chance to put their feet up
Re my budding Jamie Oliver, you know he likes Jamie but prefers Nigella and Gary Rhodes wnd Rick Stein. When he was around 4/5 and Nigella was on regular TV he used to say he liked her cos she had 'big hair and a big kitchen'......lol!
Doddsy - gave up on patience ages ago ! He's a little sagitarrius (sp?) and just gets stuck in. R the ice cream, took it out 20 minutes before hand and the outsides were too soft insides too hard, just not got the balance right, someone suggested mixing in the egg whites just before freezing ?
Anniebooklover/Penny - soup is a good idea, my last attempt wasn't good, maybe I should ask youngest he made a wicked omelette for lunch after watching Saturday kitchen, like you say if Uni should beckon they wouldn't starve or be without friends !
Moggins - would the swap involve football training ? If it does can he clean his own boots and remember the kit needs washing ? Cos mine doesn't .......
PP - I loove roasts! I honestly think thats the only thing I couldn't forgo.

Today we are totally at a loss of what to do! I'm in a bouncingly happy mood and OH is all moody - so we really need something to do before we start arguing!
Any idea's? we want to do some something that is low cost, but it's quite cold and windy to just go for a walk!
I was gonna start making the christmas cakes but think it might be a little too early!
any idea's?

Afternoon all,
Up early with DD today, whilst DH had a lie in - 11:00am he woke up!!
Made another batch of cherry tomato sauce.
2 loads of washing washed and both hung out
Curtains being made.
Large pile of ironing getting larger
Been to supermarket.
SnowyOwl - whatever you decide about a hoover, the Miele cat 'n' dog one does wonders in this house. I gave up on my Dyson in the end, and the Henry is good for DIY / general pick up, but was no good for Fred's hairs. Just my opinion.
Noddy was fun yesterday, DD had a whale of a time, even if we had to dodge showers of rain a lot. They were really geared up for the little 'uns, with lots of variety of things to do. Entrance fee was extortionate, but hey at least we took our own lunch.
Then we went to John Lewis for DH to drool over the various TV's. Managed to drag him away without it costing us anything, although I know the time is coming for us to have to buy another one, as this TV is getting creaky. Looked and drooled at range cookers!
Oh and DH is looking at every bush / tree as we drive along, he's spotted where the elderberries, blackberries and crab apples are, and I found some sloes yesterday :j .
He also bought a beer making kit on Friday .. so apparently I need to find a pressurised barrel for the beer now
Right, must crack on, might make some muffins later to take with us tomorrow to the plum festival. No doubt, I shall be looking for recipes tomorrow to do with plums!
B - Cereal
L - Cheese / pate sarnies
D - Steak with pepper sauce and HM wedges for DH and I, dunno yet for DD - probably fish something or another!GC - March 2024 -0 -

OH is up his pigeon loft as usual, DS2 out with his mates, DS1 at his girlfriends, not seen him since yesterday morning when he went on a sleepover, he says he'll be home for tea!
Had his GCSE results when we got home from holiday, could have been much worse considering he did virtually no revision! 1B,3Cs and 3 Ds and a music technology qualification.Enough to get into college though thats the main thing!:D

Hello everyone :hello:
We're back from the Mouse Annual Excursion .... this year we really pushed the boat out (if you pardon the pun) and went on a cruise in the med (Got for the cheapest possible price, of course) Lovely ship, fab weather (although 41 deg in Messina was a tad too warm for us) and it's true, despite all your best intentions, the weight piles on (5 1/2 lbs for me
) Mr TM daren't even get on the scales!
So, thanks for all the birthday wishes - didn't have time on 19th to come on and read the threads. Got a few bits n bobs from Mr TM/boys, but I've asked for money from him so I can get what I want:D Have some lovely perfume from sis, and money from mum, which I shall enjoy spending. Also got a lovely book and little bag from Nels - thanks hun
So, today I have started on the mammoth washing mountain. 2nd load is on but I'm doing long washes with soaks, as everything is so grubby so it's taking forever. And it keeps raining too so the TD will be usedBM is on it's 2nd loaf (went to to the Tesco run with 2 small slices gone and on my return, about 3 slices left. So much for Mr TM saying he wanted to loose some weight) Major shop done but still needs putting away so I came on here whilst I ate my lunch.
Right, I haven't had time to read through any threads. I'll try to catch up this week, but forgive me if I've missed anything crucial and don't pick up on it.
Hope you are all having a good day. ((hugs)) to all

Hi there TM! Welcome back, I'd been wondering where you'd been.
Five and a half pounds? It's probably fluid retention...;).0 -
Hi all,
Lovely weather here today - OH is managing to do a bit of gardening at last.
Did I happen to mention I've got a new laptop:whistle: . I love it, evem though it's taking me a while to get the hang of the mousepad.
V lazy this morning, didn't get up till 11.00 went to the supermarket and am stalling on the house w**k I've got to do.
Re: vacuums for pets - for years we had spaniels and snow drifts of hair around the house, now we've got a poodle she can jump all over us and not leave a hair. Mind you she costs me £22 every six weeks to stop her turning into a shaggy monster.
Hope everyone who felt unwell yesterday now feels better.
PP - I hope the rest does the trick, I now how frustrating it is wanting to get on with things and not being able to.0
