Was really shocked when I saw Carol Thatcher on the TV recently. I often hear her on the radio; doesn't she look like her dad?

    Morning everyone (just)

Went out for dinner last night.

Family coming down from Scotland today. Sister is off to Florida to work for a year. I am soooo jealous - unfortunately I have the responsibilities and can't just leave for a year. But you know I'd rather have my life really - wouldn't be without the kids (even when they drive me round the bend).

They're bringing DS with them too - it's the first time he's been away for any length of time (been away since tuesday) - house has been soooo quiet. He'll have been spoilt rotten and loved every minute of it.

Ooh Penelope Penguin - was it you! Wondered what had happened when I came on earlier

    Take care everyone.

    Hi Penny

    not me - I wish.

It's Anne of Green Gables - kiddy and girly books and film - I still love them still. Wanted to be Anne when I was young.

We can all dream I s'pose.

Morning all - erm, afternoon all! Foreverskint, Can I just mention.... kittenwatching is NOT time wasting, it's therapeutic and educational :D

Smashing Blouse - hope you feel way better after your op! Don't overdo things - you're already doing enough by preparing for the big event. TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOURSELF. That's an order.

Today I'm going out of the house (VERY RARE OCCURENCE) to buy some winemaking equipment - I've an urge to make wine and a freecycler gave me some demi-johns, but I need all the other gubbins to go with them. Hmm, we don't even drink wine normally. I've been making jam recently, but pain put paid to that yesterday - tomorrow WILL be better :) Ever the optimist.

Niece has now gone home after staying for 3 days - bless her, she's not the brightest star in the sky, and I overdid things whilst she was here. Life will be back to normal soon. Gosh, don't kids take some time and attention looking after!! I'm glad we chose to have cats instead - FAR easier in my opinion. Everyone knows when they come here with their serge trousers on they go home wearing mohair ones. :D

HUGGLES to the rest of you today,
    Jo (Justin's wife)
  • Hi Guys!

    Thanks for the best wishes!!

    Im bored!

Where can I find a good set of measuring cups/spoons on the cheap? Have looked on Ebay and cheapest I can find is £5 including postage for white plastic ones:confused: ...is that good? Was after the chrome ones if poss-would Matalan sell them cheaply?

Its a lovely day here weather wise. Have a washload to do and will hopefully stay dry to hang outside:rolleyes:

OH should be here with the nephew and his fiance in a bit, then they will be leaving at the local station as its only 15 mins into town. Will offer some sarnies and a cup of tea as they will end up spending extorninate (sp) amounts of dosh on snacks at the theatre otherwise:D .....maybe Im mothering him too much...:rotfl:

Put the lamb in on low and the spuds are part boiled. Once nephew is here, will get OH to put spuds in the oven and we can have an early dinner and have the soup later. Will save a plate for DD as Roasts are her favourite and will be mortified otherwise:eek:

Someone mentioned my meals earlier and said how nice they sound. Believe me...they are boring, and what me mam used to dish up for us. We do love hearty meals and all have pretty good appetites. Roasts are our favs, but followed closely with HM Pies, Toad In Hole, Spagbol, Curries...etc etc.

God....Im blabbing...sorry...can u tell Im really bored! Have to rest though, or I'll be taken back in hospital and I will be more bored in there:o

Had a look through my essay thats due in in 2 weeks and need to close it down now and only have 600 words to play with:eek:   ...hopefully I can do it as I start going off on different tangents and use the word count up:p Have my exam in October and am lucky enough to sit it at home-not too sure what the exam involves yet, but hopefully I can blag it if I dont understand;) :D ...only joking guys!

My mate text from the states this morning and has bought all the bits I asked for...and more:T ...he remembererd I love Twinkies and bought some and bought some designer knicks (for me) and pants/socks for OH...dont worry peeps we have been best mates for over 10years. He also bought me some funky notebooks from Walmart as he knows what Im like with me lists.

Sorry guys, I'll try not to pester you too much this afternoon..lol.

    Hugs

Me too, and now I'm desparate to live on P.E.I.
I've got the books. Have you read the Emily books also by L.M. Montgomery? They're a little less whimsical than Anne. Starting to collect the videos too, although I think the first is the best.
