    Good Morning all

chilly up here today. I got some plants from that daily mail offer a while ago. Got them on Friday so I planted them into little pots and gave them a water like you're supposed to....they're not looking too well this morning. I think my black thumbs may have struck again  I have my fingers crossed that it's just the change in atmosphere ( must have been a shock going to sleep in guernsey and waking up here!)

((((HUGS)))) to Debt free chick of course you aren't abnormal. I find myself wishing OH would go away somewhere and let me have time on my own then if he does, I'm moping around doing nothing or watching TV....

sorry to hear about your daughter catznine - hope she's not too nervous about going out again, does she carry one of those alarms? you can get some that go in your pocket and loop around your wrist so if you just jerk your arm up they go off

dfc - how lovely of you to put your partner and his son first, sorry you're feeling a bit lonely, could you maybe go and stay with a pal for a few days ? :)

    happy birthday Elona :bdaycake:

I've put a lamb joint in the SC so DH will get dinner ready later :) although I'll have to do the gravy

DD is going to do a granary loaf in new BM today :D
and someone from work is going to bring me in some unusual bread recipes so I'll be able to share those :)

    Morning

Bit wet here this morning and I wanted to hang the bedding out:mad:

Oh has gone off to football so it's just me and the dogs today and a load if cleaning, I did nothing yesterday at all and the place feels full of dog hair in the air YUK
Started to write down all the dinners we usually have and after 6 of them I am stuck:confused: I want to make a meal planner for the coming month, I need some inspiration from somewhere:confused:
OH seems a little better but says he feel really odd and cant explain why, I said it's because he has no tablets and has stopped them straight away and it's dangerous for you:confused: Men huh??

I might list some clothes on ebay later I have so many.
Still feel cold here today, I have been wearing sandals/flip flops for months now but I think I will dig some proper shoes out for tomorrow.

    Hope everyone is well

    :bdaycake: Happy Birthday Elona.........

Morning all..........((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) to those who need them.

I know all about that empty feeling. I had 4 chidlren and longed for some me time, I used to buy myself a chocolate eclair and lock myself in the loo to eat it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!but when my mother and OH took the kids away for a week I just felt like my arms had been amputated, did not know what to do with myself...............

Its very wet here, glad we decided yesterday not to do a boot sale this morning..... we would have been very wet, spent £8 and I suspect sold very little.......

I finished reading !!!!!! Strawbridges book last night, it was very good. I admire him and his family for doing something rather than talking about it. I wish we had been in his position I would have gone down a similar route, but we never had the cash. We do our bit as well we can now, growing as much as we can, trying to monitor our use of gas and elctricity, a necessity now the prices have gone up so much, I wish we had a chimney, I would have an open fire again. My daughter was saying that she plans to open hers up and use it again in the winter, she has plenty of dry wood. She is even worse off than we are a lone parent with 2 children, she has a little job but has to get by on very little. So many of the houses built in the 70's and 80's do not have fireplaces......... and its very expensive to put one in........ even if you have a wall that will take a chimney.

I have a load of washing to dry, it will have to go on the airer tonight if the weather does not improve during the day, trying not to use my dryer, thinking about maybe replacing it with a dishwaher......since they seem to use less water than washing up by hand......

Right I am off for my caffine fix,

have a great day.... by the way lillibet sorry about the weather but I am sure everything will be ok, you will be a little cosy thats all.......

Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day........

Sorry about that, starting the morning with a song, I just feel so good this morning :) I had a nice lie in and DH came home from work and joined me in bed for a cuddle ;) now had coffee, DD piled her breakfast down her as fast as she could (a complete miracle). I must get this sleeping bag on the line to dry and get some of DD's clothes washed.

    Happy Birthday Elona

Lillibet I hope Spuds birthday party goes well, whether indoors or not.

DFC you may be abnormal or not, who cares, you've done a lovely unselfish thing and you should feel proud of yourself, perhaps you could use this week to think about christmas presents for your OH and his son whilst they are not there.

I hope everyone has a good day, I have to finish knitting the scarf I started yesterday, do some more of the rug and cook a bolognese sauce to put away for DH for next week. Tea is going to be omlettes and chips to use up some eggs.

Thanks everybody for all the good wishes.

Dds brought me breakfast in bed and hand made cards that they had made themselves - stuff fron Lush , two books by my favourite authors (half price) and a lovely pen with a very moving message on the card that accompanied it.

Loved my 12 year old's message "Hope your birthday is really happy

Give me a hug and make it snappy!" Laughed out loud at that one.

DH has booked a posh meal for all six of us tonight and will wear new silky skirt - but as it is two sizes too big - I need to sew darts in the waistband which will be covered by the silky belt.

DH is making noises about getting a bigger house as with six of us we are a bit squashed. Panicking a bit at the idea but a utily room and extra couple of rooms would be fantastic.

Just found the christmas thread, will have to work my way through 31 pages:eek:

Oh has 156 pounds of vouchers from his work so we have kept that for christmas, he works in a distillery so plenty of booze to choose for gifts:rotfl:

So much for me being cold...... I am sweating like a pig, just pulled the sofa out hoovered mopped dusted and de-cluttered half the front room, the hallway is filthy dogs running in and out and now have pretty paw prints all over the place:mad:
Smells a bit fresher in here though:p

Good luck with the christmas thread Kyle :D

The sleeping bag is now out and drying on the radiator as it has started to rain, another load on and now I must get on and do this sauce so I can get it in the freezer this afternoon before DH wakes up and eats it :D

Then I'll either convince DD she is finishing her room or put her on the computer in the dining room so I can settle down and watch some more CSI whilst I'm finishing my knitting.
