Good morning DFC,
No you aren't abnormal. Sometimes I long for time on my own, but when I get it, I rarely enjoy it. I know some people do enjoy their own company, but I'm not one of them....I'd far rather be with others, preferably those that I love.
Try to keep as busy as you can for the next few days, with luck that will help them pass more quickly and soon they'll both be home.

Many Happy Returns elona!

Hello DebtFChick, Pink-winged and all who follow:D
Can you believe im still up at this unearthly hour???? mind you just spent the last hour catching up on saturdays thread!
Today DS has not been too good after pre-school jab yesterday, woke in the night with temperature, bless - and today he's not been his usual self, dont fancy eating and hot and cold feeling - he doesnt usually have reactions to jabs but he has this time, oh well out with the Calpol!
I have just spent my sat nite flyladying the kitchen!! WHY??
well i was going to sort it out this afternoon, but got a reply about family tree on genes reunited and then ended up trailing through census/records etc till about 6.30:eek: - afternoon was then gone, hence started doing kitchen in evening. Got rid of some stuff, had radio on, listened to all those lovely old disco tunes and remembering when i used to be out dancing on sat nites, now im cleaning the kitchen -  (note to self: must change that)
Went shopping earlier, got DS1 laptop for 4.99 in woolies (as recmd on grabbit board), sheets, bin bags - Greg's warm sausage roll:D , got mums birthday pressie for next week one of those Dome umbrellas - maybe i should give it to her now looking at this awful weather? went to get child bike seat but sold out, so family cycling jaunts are put on hold till they are in stock.
Finished off with a posh cappucino in M&S!
happy birthday to elona!!

Morning all!!! Here I am again having just finished my last nightshift for this week! I am now officially days off!:j Not having a glass of wine this morning as last night was not quite as hectic as the night before so no need to try and knock myself out so I can get some sleep!
Spent yesterday putting stuff on ebay, will try and do more today (my kitchen tables and chairs are piled with boxes waiting to be done!), got to raise some funds somehow - have committed to going to Canada in 2008 so really really need to try and pay for it somehow as well as paying the debts at the same time.
OH is just getting up, just heard the alarm upstairs. He's going away to Dundee with a friend for the day to pick up a fridge freezer of all things!
Shez - like your day yesterday I am going to be spending part of it doing the family tree thing. I contacted someone on genes reunited about family (there are not many people about with the surname I am looking for - infact, there are only 10 of them in the whole UK!) but unfortunately I haven't heard anything:rolleyes: . Anyway, Dad has managed to get hold of an unbelieveable amount of notes and certificates :T so we are going to start piecing them together. It takes forever doesnt it!!! (but its a free pastime if you don't count the electricity and have the right contacts to get the records!)
Just going to check the ebay stuff and see how I'm getting on with bids/watchers.....
have a nice day, will pop back in when I manage to get up!!!

Morning All:hello:
Well, my good news is that overnight I sold 3 items on ebay for over £100:D They were old really knackered fireplaces which have been in the garden shed for the last 10 years. The shed is being pulled down to make way for the new patio so they had to go. £1
So many Genes reunited-ers here today! Hubby has been doing his for the last 2 years. So far back 400 years & I've lost count of how many relatives he has found, both living & dead. Who'd have thought there were so many Cheesemans out there? (and to think, I have flatly refused to take his surname 'cos I hate it so much!!!). Would love to do mine as I know it is in the Doomsday book but having seen how addictive it is & how much time it takes I best not. Anyone a Snoxell on here?
The bad news is that it's tipping it down & blowing a gale, so the picnic is off. Going to have to decamp to our house:p I knew getting the cool bags out would be the kiss of death:rolleyes: Better get blowing up those balloons:p I'll try to repot back later how it all goes.
Have a good day everyone:wave:Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
Debt_Free_Chick wrote:But I'm simply not enjoying the "me time" ... am I abnormal?
Hiya fellow old stylers, welcome to a wet and cold sunday.
DFC, its not abnormal at all the way you are feeling. Having been at home full time since dd1 was born 4 years ago and now having 3 kids under 4 I am like every other mother wishing for a bit of "me time". On the very rare occasion I get any it feels a bit weird. I end up rushing around trying to clean up while I can and end up keeping myself so busy I forget to take the me time and then smother the kids with kisses/cuddles when they get home. BTW, they've only ever been out for the afternoon without me, shows how pathetic I am.for ELONA, hope you have a lovely day.
SHEZ I know what you mean about the flybady bug, damned thing bit me twice last week. I do have a lovely clean kitchen and bedroom now though, one bug I dont mind catching:D.
ARNIE&CASEYSMA hope you enjoy your days off.
Well, I've had a shocking night, actually make that weekend, in terms of sleep. DS was up at 5am on sat morning and I never got back to bed after that. Then last night DS woke at 4am, got him back down by 4.45 and then DSD woke up at 5.55 and thinking it was late cause it was light outside she proceeded to wake the DD's. I will try to get a hour or so in bed later but that would mean leaving DH in charge of all 4 of them .
I made the weetabix brownies last night and they went down a treat, I had to pinch 4 to keep for today so the kids would something for after lunch.
Todays plan is just to try and keep the kids entertained inside cause its still raining here. I got my waterbutt delivered on friday as well but havent had time to connect it yet so am gutted thinking of all that water being wasted.
Off to make some more coffe, get DD2 a weetabix and have a browse.
Have a good day all,
Kiwi.

Had a bad night, but will get over it!
Washload already in and nearly done. Will be dried between airer and TD today as I have another 2+ washes to do:eek: DW is empty and house is all clean and tidy as cleaner came in whilst we were away. There are a couple of things she has missed and I think a new jar of Nescafe has gone missing from the cupboard...not too happy about this as no note was left, but will ask her about it tomorrow.
All the clothes and stuff from the holiday has mainly been put away and there is a ton of ironing:rolleyes:

morning everyone,
wet again, so more painting on the cards, have to fetch aunt today and take her home, so hope the car is running okay after yesterday
good job i have plenty of meals in till the end of the month as the battery, spark plugs etc cost a fortune that i wasnt expecting, at least dd1 got the bp monitor off freecycle so will be trying it out today
catznine - glad you have seen your dd and was able to spoil her, been a worrying time, not to mention the car tyre, thats something i dread happening
lillibet- hope the party goes well today
dfc - it would have been good to have the pup left with you, always something to cuddle
penny pincher - my fingers are crossed for your forms
elona - happy birthday to you xx
love to everyone else x0 -
:hello: Morning!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELONA! :bdaycake:
It is just dawning on me what a lucky escape we had yesterday! Having a tyre blow out at 70 mph on the M25 in pouring rain and still oh managed to get the car safely across the carriageways before we were on the rim of the wheel. No tyre left by the time we got there mind you!
What with that and the attack on our dd I have come to the conclusion that you need to appreciate every day and every moment of that day, even the little things count.
We have just enjoyed a pot of real coffee in the conservatory, feeling cosy listening to the rain on the roof and stroking the purring cat. How lucky we are!
Now to "sieze the day" as we need to sort out the rooms and clear some clutter as we have family and friends coming down next weekend for a family party and there is nowhere to put them! I must clear out all my craft stuff and pop it into the loft for now. I am keeping the knitting down for the leftover wool challenge because that will help ease the pain and stiffness in my fingers and clear out some of my stockpile of wool.
Will phone dd later when she has woken up, we left her yesterday with chocs, fudge, smoothies, snacks and magazines so she could chill out and recover. I also took down all the hugs you sent! Thank you! Tomorrow will be a test for her as she braves central london again.
More :coffee: needed
Catz xOur days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
