Enjoy the wine! I'm on earlies tomorrow after only working 4 days this month so far.

Unfortunately it won't be a weekend any time soon... I've just checked and my next weekend off after Glasgow is 23rd October! We will sort something out xx

    to earlies!

I have one weekend booked in November (13th) but think that is it - so pick a date and put it in your diary :)

  • Didn't realise you had a diary.

Definitely check out Memory Girls thread, it moves quite fast but she does stuff with mind mapping that helps you remember stuff. Also one of the best things I was ever taught in school was how to speed read, so that you take more in when you do read, without having to read every sentence. Although a lot depends on the subject.

  • I'm so glad I have the friends I do, I owe this particular one a BIG box of chocolates and bottle of wine as she has let me stay at hers for 3 weeks while our friend is away, and has said I can sleep on her sofa for the week or so until I can move. I'm a very lucky girl with the people I have around me, and somehow the trip to Littlehampton has made me able to talk about this more freely! I'm such a closed person, but I think after getting so emotional in front of a bunch of strangers, there isn't much left to hide! :o

Once you've farted in front of a bunch of strangers, then there really is nothing left to hide! :rotfl: In my defence...it was the spicy Kung Po beef! :o

    Hi sweetie!

I'm trying to fly around the various posts and threads trying to catch up with you all and things I've missed through the summer. I'll e-mail tonight (prob early hours) for a proper catch up but just wanted to pop in, say hi and send love and hugs!

    More later...luvs ya!

I'm so glad you are ok SB, I was starting to worry about you :o I have just finished work so you aren't the only late sleeper, but I certainly won't be up as late as you!! I hope you are taking care of yourself as well as everyone else xxxx
  • I had my exam yesterday. After ending up not doing any revising as I was panicking myself too much and completely mentally blocking my brain, two of the questions I answered I feel fairly ok about. The third was complete dribble and I definitely won't get any marks for that one. So I'm fairly hopeful that I at least passed. I have now booked myself onto Memory Girls study course , although not until April so I can save the money up.

I have started my digital photography course but am behind due to being at work so much and of course 'revising'. My new course starts in November and I am determined to keep up properly this time!

At the moment I'm wishing my life away so I can jump from one pay day to the next and watch that debt figure tumble. It's so frustrating not knowing how much we get paid from one month to the next, I could work it out on my basic but that is definitely not enough to cover my basic outlay. We have been told today we aren't getting a christmas bonus, but luckily I can withdraw some shares at the end of the year so that can all go towards my debt, just have to pray that the shares keep creeping upwards!

We have been asked if we want to renew our contract on our flat already, and as much as we would both love to stay, we are getting a damp problem so we have asked for them to get it sorted before we decide to stay. Otherwise, it will be a very cold winter!

Hopefully in a couple of weeks, I shall be visiting the seaside at Littlehampton and a few lovely people from here.... sitting in the big plastic thing and secretly looking at all the clutter that has probably moved back into the house! Tomorrow, I have a long day at work (and should already be asleep) but MatyMoo is coming visiting, bringing a lovely heater and we are going out for dinner which will be rather lovely.

SB I do hope you have sorted your wind problem xx

KPR hope the exams and stuff are going well x

Glad the exam seemingly went OK, how much of the mark is the exam worth these days? When I did OU (many years ago) I used to work out from the various CMA's and stuff, what I needed to pass, and that took some of the pressure off, knowing that I 'only' needed 45% in the exam.

  • Well the final tma mark determines how much you could potentially get in the final mark... so if i have averaged at 70%, the most i could get on the exam is a pass 2. Unfortunately you need a minimum of 40% on the exam to pass, so it's not a game of averages which sucks because my exam mark will majorly reduce my overall grade even though I was getting 70, 75, 80 and 90s in my tmas!
  • Hi Psycho,

Thanks SB :D Great to talk to you today!

Updates.... my car needs a fair bit of work doing to it, but my friends brother is hopefully going to sort most of it out next week at cost price + a bit for labour so that is excellent, obviously I'd prefer it to not need fixing at all but fingers crossed this all gets me through the MOT and another year. I was originally quoted £350 but hopefully now it'll be less than £175 for everything.

The maintenance man came this morning to check out the damp in the flat and couldn't figure out where it's coming from or what was causing it. He is going to tell the letting agent they need to send in a damp specialist and fingers crossed they arrange this fairly quickly so we can sign the contract and stay for another 6 months. I really can't afford to move again, I have absolutely no way of scraping anything for a deposit but on the other hand, we can't stay in a flat that is so damp and smelly and cold.

I'm behind on my 10 week photography course funnily enough but I've already started my psych course which officially starts next week. My results for exam will be 17th December, just in time for Christmas.

We are holding a halloween party on Sunday which should be good fun, I'm dressing up as the nurse from Kill Bill... we also have a Carrie, Clowns, Witches, a pumpkin and Dracula so far.

On Monday I'm going to Littlehampton to visit some lovely and wonderful people.... in various ways they have helped me out massively.

This time next week I'll be helping my friend with last minute stuff for her wedding.... I'm a bit nervous about the reading but I'll just have to power on through. I have lost 13.5 pounds so I feel a bit better about myself than I did a couple of months ago... hoping I can make it to that 1 stone target I set myself when I joined SW. But once I've had several drinks, I won't give a darn about it!

After completely losing the plot at fatclub last night, I feel better today although still a bit fragile. It's been recommend I go back to the doctor and get pills but I just don't know if I can face it. I might try and get a couple of sessions with the counsellor again and see if that helps. I don't know why I feel like this but maybe it's triggered from moving again and with the car came the realisation I have NO safety net or emergency fund. So my aim is to get an emergency fund going to cover these things like my car and give me peace of mind.
