I'm glad everyone thinks she's as beautiful as I think she is. The next door neighbour said she got her because she was so pretty. I call her pretty kitty and when I do, she gives me a kiss.

Trudij, I took your advice and have ordered a zoom groom for her. She loves her cuddles (on her terms of course) so after having a look, I decided to try it. If she's not keen, I'll use it to fuss poochie but for a fiver, I can't complain. Frontline and worming tablets are also on their way. Poochie needs worming too so killed lots of birds with one stone and thanks to quidco I get 5% back anyway. It's only cost me £30 for worming tablets for both, frontline for both (precautionary measure for poochie, he's not got fleas but all my cats have managed to bring them into the house so doing it just in case) and this zoom groom thing. Will call the vets tomorrow and ask how much to sedate her to have her clipped. As some have said, I want to start from scratch.

On a plus side, kitty hasn't moved for hours. She doesn't like going outside but I think that's because she's worried that I'll throw her out and not let her back in. I'm only keeping everyone updated so you all know I'm taking all the advice offered. I wouldn't have started the thread otherwise!

This sounds so silly but Mr Screamer and I are so looking forward to our future together. We have 2 young pets who are both hopefully going to be around for a very long time. In our own house, planning on getting engaged, it seems everything is falling into place. It's great and I feel like crying with happiness. Too late, I'm crying, I'm so happy!!!!!!

I could never thank you all enough! You've all given me courage to speak up about something that was upsetting me and I'm not the only one who appreciates your help. Cat, dog and OH are all content, that just makes me happier!!
Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)

Couldn''t wish for a better outcome -you are a complete star :j:A
Kitty is beautiful , a very pretty girl -thank goodness for you taking an interest - she has now got her paws under your table for good .
Make sure when you take her to the vet you get her chipped too - then there''s no chance they can dispute anything.

She is stunningly beautiful! For some reason I thought she was tortiseshell but all that lovely white hair makes her look like a princess! From the sound of things she also has the sweetest nature. I hope you have a long and happy future together, all four of you!

LOL at FC. You're right, I couldn't ask for a better behaved dog. He's a real mummy's boy, but he's also my pride and joy. He's the first dog I ever had and I had no idea how to train him. Someone told me to treat him the same as I'd treat a baby and well, you can see the outcome. He sulks when I go to college and when I get back it's like he hasn't seen me for a month. I love him though and couldn't ask for a nicer dog.

I could talk forever about my pooch but I'd better go and get things done! :-)

Just caught up on this thread and read the whole thing, so glad you decided to say something to the neighbours - kitty is gorgeous! Just goes to show that sometimes people aren't evil or mean on purpose and just want a little bit of help but are too shy or scared to ask for it. My cat Pepsi was terribly matted on her underneath when she was brought in as a stray, she was shaved underneath and it didn't seem to affect her at all. Congrats on your new friend anyway, looks like she's already got her paws well and truly under the table!
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't important

Another one who has just found this thread!

Really really glad to hear the outcome. Sounds like Gizmo is sorted for life! She sure is a stunning puss!

I know its been suggested already, but definatly worth a trip to the vet for a checkup at least (and jabs if appropriate) BTW, its not nessecary to sedate a cat to get it chipped - its a single injection at the back of the neck and although its quite a large needle and they may wince its not too painful for them and it only lasts a second or so
Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male:

Aww, bless your lovely heart Screamer, it's so kind of you to take an interest and to take that lovely pusscat on. The cat and dog together look like an inseparable pair and I'm so glad that your neighbour is not the heartless neglecter she sounded like at the beginning.

Gizmo's the prettiest little darling and sounds like she's happily got her dainty little feet well and truly under your table. Here's to years of petted-up bliss together!

Oh, I so love a happy ending
