ah, so they're not refusing everyone then... they must just think i'm scum!
I would say 'their loss'... but actually, i was just going to tart them anyway, so it's their gain really

If you are going for this card you can choose your free gift.
https://www.virgin.com/vmAugust7 = Digital Cordless Phone
https://www.virgin.com/vmAugust3 = MP3 Player
https://www.virgin.com/vmAugust8 = CD Player with AM/FM Radio
Expect this may change to "September" soon.Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

I got approved yesterday (£4000!!!) and I have a couple of silly questions -
if I do a balance transfer (my egg anniversary BT runs out at the end of the month...) does that qualify as a transaction to get the MP3 player?
Also, will that type of BT incur the £35 charge that applies to 'some' transfers?
One more incidental thing that has nothing to do with credit cards - can
anyone tell me if the MP3 player is any good? I was just going to sell it, but
I'm going travelling soon and have decided to take one with me. I imagine that
it won't be great or have too much in the way of storage so I'm probably
best off selling it and funding a better one.
Any advice greatly appreciated! And thanks to Martin's Love Child for posting this!0 -
I know the original post said this offer expired on 26th August but has it been extended at all?
Also, has anyone actually received the MP3 player yet and, if so, is it any good?0 -
Sorry, the first part of my question has been answered by the links on dealseeker's post earlier on. :-[
The offer has now been extended to 26th Sept. Now decisions, decisions.....which freebie to go for?!0 -
Regarding total credit limit of MBNA cards, it does depend on how many MBNA cards you have. I applied for an Abbey card and got a paltry 2.5k, I rang them up and told them "I dont get out of bed for less than a 10k limit 8)" They said the low limit had been given because of the high limit on my A&L card. They did allow me to move some of my A&L limit onto my Abbey card... so I got out of bed

It's got to be worth a call to them to ask for one? (a bit of cheek never hurt!). The number is freephone and they'll be able to give you a decision on your application whilst you're on the phone."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

Received my card today. Called to activate etc and was told i could transfer 98% of my 9k credit limit over to my bank account at 0% for the next 9 months! Most admit when i took out this offer i didn't realise they offered this- did it just for the mp3 player. Anyway, i have just opened a Northern rock internet account offering 5.41% and will transfer the money across together with my 5k from barclaycard. Thanks to the original poster.0
