turned down also, i sort of was expecting it as when I re-read conditions later on I was positive tha it only mentioned interest rates for balances up to £5k and I was requesting £7k BT on it

nb: this page was one where it only showed credit limit up to £5k whether that was just a representation

I applied Sunday on the 15th and received my answer today.
Basically no :( Not enough info because I'm relatively new. I guess they've got more stricter guidelines than egg. I guess this means steer clear of mbna cards until I have a better history?

Blimey, I've just applied for a Virgin card after being turned down by Egg, I guess that means I won't get it I'm quite miffed because I got a copy of my credit record and I've not defaulted on a single debt in 10 years so I'm rather confused by how they work out their credit scoring. What do they want, the blood of my first born? >:(

Best advice is first to wait and see and second, if turned down, ask why.

Wow, i've been turned down too! Weird, 'cos i checked my credit file the other week and it's about as perfect as you could expect!

Not trying to protect my dignity here... but is it possible they're turning these down in bulk so not to have to honour the offer or something?

Just use the card once before the 14th October and they'll send it through within 28 days - good luck.

Here's the link for the MP3 offer:
