how many bra's?

This might be a question that has a self explanatory answer, but I'm gonna ask it anyway.
Are 'side support' bras higher at the sides than normal or are they strengthened in some way at the side?
I've just seen a Fantasie bra that comes in a normal version and a side support version but the pictures look identical.Herman - MP for all!0 -
For those in the know, what should I look for in a good sports bra (for running)? I have a variety of sizes at the moment, none of which seem to be quite right. In my normal bra, I'm a 34D (pretty sure this is now the right size).
I've got an Enell for high-impact sports and it's brilliant.

No reason why not, they start at a D, if you are a 34 band size you'll be a D...!!0 -
You've got me so excited lol! I always wanted to be a bigger cup. Can't wait to get fitted now.0

The side support bras have an additional side panel, they are not cut higer, some are cut slightly lower but they have an additional panel on the side that bring everything forward.

See this range, this is Fantasie Mariette, click the styles at the bottom, the model wearing the side support bra shows how the extra side support sits.
Choose the different colours and you will see that there is no difference in how high the bra sits, just that it has this additional side panel.
What bra was it you was interested in?0 -
It was called Connie, but I think it's old stock. Thanks for explaining the difference btw.
I'm another one who is sick of poorly fitting M&S bras, I'm going to be doing some online ordering I think.

No problem. Yes this is a style from a previous season but you can get better bargains if you are not bothered about the colours they come in.0 -
i can second the recommendation for the freya active sports bras - i was always a shock absorber girl but blue monkey had an amazing offer on her website at the time i went to see her and that tempted me to try them and honestly i swear they are fab - really no movement at all and im a 34f - feel very secure in them:j MFi3 wannabee :j

Eeek being to embarrassed to go to a shop to get measured I done it at home. For years I've thought I have been a 34a, turns out I'm actually a 30b??? :eek:Well according to the guide I followed anyway.
ETA: Ive actually just used the chart on BM website and it says 34b - so confused!
Actually having watched videos on you tube I'm even more confused. No wonder people wear the wrong sizes. My first measurment is 30" which im apparently meant to add 4" too? Second measurement is 32". So im a 34?? Non of the charts give you a measurement for minus figures, off to mope ans save for a boob job I think.0 -
Hi Nikki,
Try a 32A. If the cup is overspilling then try a 32B.
If the band is too lose and it is rising up try a 30B.
If the cup is then overspilling try a 30C.
If the band is too tight on the 32 you can get a 34A or 34AA. There are lots of pretty gel bras around if you are worreding about your size and some are lightweight, some are heavier.
Tbh we have a standard guide for measuring, everyone uses it even the teachers on the fitting courses - but as fitters we don't because we tend to just know. I could not even tell you the last time I measured myself and if someone comes to see me then I'll measure their band but it is very rarely +4.
I've thought about changing the site to my way but then it is catch 22, your's is different to everyone elses and they think that you are a bit of a crackpot and won't trust you to buy anything in case they think you are being ripped off and have got it wrong - that is why we say it is just a guide, it helps people think 'hold on, I think I am in the wrong size, does my band fit like it should'. I am going to add 'The holy Fit' video to that page as well.
I think everyone should be fitted, proplery, into a bra just the once so if you buy bras in the future you know what to look for.
Maybe they should make it part of PSHE lessons at school for teenagers as it is a really important part of looking after your body.0
