I was squashing them into a 38DD up until a few months ago
I got fitted in La Senza as one boob being FF and one G, and my back as 38.
Would it be a case of the cup being too small? They don't spill out at all over the top but it's not too big either, there's no room in there.
Where would you suggest I get fitted? M&S told me they only do back sizes now, no cup sizes!!!!
As a well blessed-in-the-boob-dept female, I wouldn't go to La Senza/M&S if they paid me to take their bras away! I did many years ago and after discovering how wrong they really were and finding Bravissimo I wouldn't go anywhere else (Although I do dream of Rigby and Peller) Blue Monkey is obviously far more qualified than lots of others here, and she's right in that you need to go somewhere with different brands, I only fit into Panache and Freya.
I've never liked going to Debenhams/John Lewis ... not sure why.

M&S no, they are useless too.

Do you have a Debenhams, John Lewis, Selfridges, Bravissimo or Independant near you? This is especially important in the larger sizes as a lot of High Street brand will 'fit' you into what they have, not what fits you. if you are getting back ache it is because your bust does not have the right support.

The thing is, if you get cheaper ones they use inferior materials and the bras do not have as much structure and a larger sized cup needs structure. To be honest, I could not size you in that bra that you have and offer any sort of guide because I do not trust La Senza sizings. Usually someone can tell me how a bra fits and I can give a gauge of the cup size they should be.

The one thing you could do is measure under your boobs, around your back, not riding up the back but going around - follow an invisible circle from unnderneath, and PM me this measurement if you ar enot happy posting on here and I'll see if I can help. The tape should be as tight as you can pull it without cutting yourself in half. :)

I'll be around some more tonight now but PM me and I'll tell you what I think you should be wearing. Those LS bras do not have the structure though and you need something that will hold you up well.

Thanks for all of your help! I live in Liverpool so I have all of those nearby. I really didn't realise La Senza were bad for larger breasts! My back aches from when I wake to when I sleep some days!

When I get in later I'll get some measuring tape and see. I'm sure it was somewhere around 42-44" though as I was surprised when I was fitted in a 38. I was a 36C (in ASDA bras though) when I was a size 8 and I'm a size 16 now, so it didn't seem right to me
Thanks again for all of your help!

Thanks for your advice! My only concern is I'm only 20 and don't want any 'old women' bras. I only like ones that dont have a really thick part in the middle where the cups meet. I like them to have a thin part, and I only really like T shirt bra types, nothing too lacy or anything. Do you find them to be good for those?

Debt so far: Natwest Overdraft -
    [STRIKE]£1250[/STRIKE] £0, Barclays Overdraft - £1500
    , Abbey Overdraft -
    [STRIKE]£750[/STRIKE] £0, Car finance - £3000 :(

I've been buying bras from Bravissimo for nearly 4 years now, and I wouldn't say they were old lady-ish. They have lots of different styles. A selection here http://www.bravissimo.com/products/lingerie
    Request one of their catalogues.

Oh and I'm a 16 and was last measured in at 32HH, not 38E thank you Marks and Spencer! I'll be straight back once I've stopped breastfeeding.

Bluemonkey - wow, you've offered a lot of good information here!

Could I ask for your suggestions (how wierd is this, an online, public bra fitting!:o)?
I'm 36G and usually wear Fantasie Allure, which I like for its balcony shape, the fact it's smooth enough to wear under most things, and it's got a bit of lace on it that stops it being too plain and boring.
I can't find these any more - is there anything you can suggest as an alternative, as the ones I have are a bit past their best now? I generally wear tops that have quite a low, wide neckline (if that makes sense?) and like my boobs to be push upwards, rather than together.
    Thank you!

I've decided that I'm going to treat myself to some new bra's although it may need to wait until payday:rotfl:

Very put off being measured by a shop now since hearing all the horror stories! Used to love La Senza but do admit that I have some bra's from there that I have never worn as they are too small! Ebay? Lol.

Should I just start with the basics i.e. white, black and nude? Then work my way on to some pretty undies? Will stay away from Primarks undies :rotfl:but unsure where else to get good (but reasonably priced) ones?

Don't you worry, here are so many bras on the market - it is not like the old days. have a look at www.eveden.com and choose Freya Lingerie and have a look at those. Also some of the Fantasie bras are realy nice now (they used to be the old lady option) I've seen A LOT of changes during my time - all good I might add - and yes, the lacy ones are just as supportive as those that are not.

I have had lots of ladies come to me thinking they are a 38 and have gone out in a 32/34 and have been a size 16-18 too.

I am a size 14 and wear a 30/32 back size. Dress sizes really mean nothing these days now that bras are fitted.

That's cool, I am happy to do that if you are. Allure has been discontinued now so this is why you cannot find it.

There is nothing that is smooth with lace on at the moment - it is all either or. I have to take the kids swimming but I'll be back around 8.30 tonight and I'll get some pics for you for the new alternatives and go through the new catalogue - it is the time of year for new styles to be released so I will check. I've not been very well today so have my cosy seat on the sofa, I did think I would not take them swimming but I cnanot be that mean!!

Depends on your size Nikki tbh, you can choose whatever you want for everyday wear, if you mainly wear red tops then go for red, no point in sticking to the basics if you wear other colours.

As for where you shop, it really depends on your size. Again, if you want to be measured find an independant.

Reasonable priced would depend on your size again.
