I would only buy from a camera shop in a Mall like Ritz cameras (there is one on Sand Lake Road).
Steer well clear of the camera shops on ID as they are full of rip off merchants. They start off charming and then turn menacing if you don't buy. They also swop the camera you think you are buying for a fake while they keep you busy talking and if you have kids with you giving your child freebies (usually disposable cameras). Have heard this happening with Laptops too. If you buy use a credit card. The banks try to wriggle out of foreign purchases saying the law doesn't protect you abroad. With enough hassle though they should pay up.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

I second Poppy9 about avoiding the IDrive shops.
If you are in the Florida Mall, check out Sears as they have a glass cabinet in the electronics section. It holds the returns from customers. Many items are still boxed. If they leave the store and are brought back they go into the cabinet and get reduced and there are some real bargains. Eg. I got a Panasonic Mini-DV palmcorder in December. Completely unmarked, still in box. £120 in our money.0 -
Hey all,
I own 2 villas in Kissimmee and always do my car hire with http://www.usrentacar.co.uk as they have access to the Alamo direct road thingy. Its basicaly a preregistration service and it saves you loads of time as there is a dedicated desk at orlando intl apt. There rates are always low so its helpful to keep your holiday budget down.
Im off to new york at the end of the year, for the first time. Anyone have any tips to help me save cash?
Cheers

Anyone else on here use the disboards? I haven't been able to get into them for the past two days
Good news is that I posted on there looking to join up with people for an Illuminations Cruise and I had word from an American family who has room on their pontoon for us and would we like to join the other two families for dinner and a get together before hand.
Another date for our Disney Diary :j0 -

Just booked car hire for Florida in June/July for two weeks all insurances and taxes included for £208.26. This is a Sandford Airport pickup and drop off and the only thing I still have to pay for is petrol. This was done through carhire3000.com hope this helps.0

To BlondieE: try https://www.gotraveldirect.co.uk who fly out of Glasgow direct to Sandford. They seemed very reasonable. Car hire included in some holidays but they ask for £149 per week for the insurances and taxes. I booked another car independently via Carhire 3000 for £208 for two weeks including all taxes and insurance.0
