I just wanted to say how much help this site has been - i have been reading for a long time now all the tips suggested here and just wanted to say what a great help everyone is on here. I am very new to this so I hope I have not put this in the wrong place (my granddaughter is helping me at the moment!) I will be sure to share any tips I find or comment on any useful information. We are planning a family holiday - 7 adults - in Feb next year to Disney. Found nice villa to rent and now looking at flights. We can book now with Virgin on nonstop flight from Gatwick for £495 and got a feeling we should do this asap - or should we leave it till last minute? Any advice and info gratefully received as it was 17 years since we last went! Many thanks
When I went if February 1/2 term in 2006 I paid just under £900 for 3 tickets with Virgin. Watch the prices as they varied greatly. I bought when I thought they were as low as they go and then they went down more!!~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

If you're not bothered about 4*plus hotels (ie: Disney) then there are some really cheap deals out there that include; flight, car hire (though there's usually extra insurance when you get there, approx £100) and Bed & Breakfast (usually something like a Holiday Inn, but they all have pools and are certainly good enough for me!) for about £350.00 each, if you book last minute (up to about 4 weeks). Park tickets are of course extra, but still a very cheap way of going to Orlando.0

Hi.
New to this thread but i must say that it is very informative. Never been to Florida but have booked with Virgin for Nov 2008. My OH has been loads so she knows her way around and taking my 2 DD,s 6 and 4.
Staying at the Best western lakeside in Kissimmee. Has anyone stayed there before ???
Got quite a good deal after we complained that the free child places Virgin were offering was misleading and ,after loads of emails and phone calls, got a price of £1749 for 2 weeks. Sounds good to me but was wondering, from the wise people on here, if that is competitive.
Many thanks

Hi
Just booked a holiday through Airtours - Glasgow to Orlando for 2 adults, £375 per person for flights, named accomodation, car hire and car insurance - leaving 15th June for a week - so excited!!!
Seems to be a pretty good deal especially going from Scotland  :beer:0 -

Suberb deal there, are you going to haggle for a convertible? I heard if you refuse their 1st offer flatout and state your budget on a per day basis, i.e. $10 it might work, let me know!!
How much time did you spend shopping around?
Presume that is non-stop direct flight?
Did the Airtours price change as time got closer, reason I ask is we are thinking about going in August for two weeks, two adults an 11 and 15 y/oIf it takes a man a week to walk to walk a fortnight how long does it take a fly with tackity boots on to walk through a barrel of treacle?0 -
An option for your return journey (try it - it's funny)
Follow these steps:
1. Go to https://www.google.co.uk
2. Click on maps.
3. Click on get directions.
4. Type in from "Orlando" to "London".
5. Scroll down in the directions to number 19.
6. Laugh and then forward this so other people can enjoy...before they change it.0 -

Yes - we stayed there back in 2004. It was good then, and we are returning this year.
Trip Advisor is displaying some good reviews, and recent reviews on the Dibb are good too.
You'll have a great time.

Just don't forget you'll be mighty squished up on Airtours/Mytravel flights....unless you're under about 5'6" I'd reckon, and fairly slim too!!I'm tired of the censorship0
