Just been reading on the Disboards that they are opening a new Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Cinderella's Castle in MK, the current one is at Down Town Disney.

    http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1438289

I read about it last year and to be honest, while I think the kids will love it, they do end up looking a little bit like the American kids do on these pagent type programmes.

I went to Downtown Disney last year and watched in horror as they plastered makeup, can after can of hairspray and then more makeup on little girls. It made them look hideous in my eyes and not cute little children as they should have been.

I'm all for children experimenting with a little lipstick, blusher etc but honestly, even Jordan and Jodie Marsh wear less makeup than those little girsl ended up with!!! Awful.

Sorry to disappoint with my opinion but it is just that of course, an opinion. Have a great time in Florida .. I'm going back again next Sept.

    Hi Disneyaholics,

It has been 2 years since my last Disney holiday and I have decided I would like to go again over the New Year.

Can anybody help with the best way to do things? (Package for flights, accom and car) or seperate bookings for each. I would obviously book the tickets seperately as this seemed to be the best way of doing things last time. Is this still the case?

also if I do book everything seperately what are the chances of getting flights at the last minute? is it a particularly busy time?

Any help would be appreciated and also if anybody has had any experience of going at this time of year, I would appreciate tips or such like.

    thanks in anticipation.

    Hello People,

I am looking for some help. I am going September 05 to Florida on a 2 week break. Obviously we will be going to the Theme Parks but what is the best way to get the tickets at a reasonable price? - I'm not keen on the Ebay way. Do you get discounts if you buy say 10 tickets?

    Thank you.

Try http://www.onlineflorida.co.uk/HomePage.aspx they are pretty good on prcing for Theme Park tickets, if you want to go to Discovery Cove it's worth going direct as with the good ex rate you could probably shave a few pounds off per person. For flights I have been with both Virgin and Travelcity Direct but Virgin is a lot more expensive and the only difference is they have indivdual seat back screens for viewing the films etc. Both use Dollar for car rental so no difference there, Travelcity Direct also do lots of other good options like double baggage allowance - takes you up to 40kgs each.

DONT!!! Or at least (being serious) get to the parks early. We went boxing day through new year and Disney parks were closing to new admissions anytime from 11am onwards. Universal was busy from lunchtime onwards but then never "closed"

From my experience, and my partner's family, I'd book the accom seperate. Flight and car, maybe together, but there are so many good deals on car rental(all inclusive), that you may want to check the rates for that seperate.

For a villa, I'd try enjoyyourholiday.com. I've stayed at her villa and it's in a good area. On Siesta Lago drive between 192 and Poinciana Blvd. Easy access to 192 and 535. The house was wonderful and the pool was big with a hot tub. That's just a thought.

Car hire, I've posted it before and I'll do it now. Onairportcarhire.com seems to have the best rates. Be advised, Xmas and New Year's Eve is MAJOR, so EVERYTHING will be much higher

However you book it, do it ASAP! Especially car rental. That time of year is VERY, VERY busy. There's so much going on from the theme parks to the college football bowl game(played on New Year's Day at the Citrus Bowl), to all the events going on for New Year's Eve. Every car rental company sells out of cars early. From that standpoint alone, I say don't wait till last minute. Honestly, you might not save alot on air fare. And villas, also hotel rooms go early and quickly!

Having worked at the theme parks, YES they do "close" them early to new guests. It's busy, but it is enjoyable. Also, if you plan on going to Mickey's Very Merry Christas Party at Magic Kingdom, get those tix early as that's a seperate events that sells out.

Hope I've been of some help to you! :-)
  • Definately need a sat nav in Florida as the roads are horrific. I went to circuit city, bought a sat nav for £150, used it for 14days(max) as it helps and returned it to one of their branches (but there was a 15% charge - £21).

Most places charge £5 a day so having it for 14 days = £70 which roughly is£50 saving

    Try using my skills!
