Hi all
Just booked flights out to sanford 29/11/07-13/12/07 cost £541 for 2 adults inc car hire (didn't take insurance and will not be taking car..) Is this a good deal for off season flights? They said no charge for not using car so all good
Also Thinking of argus for car hire through quidco £200 for 2 weeks fully insured, economy car or should i upgrade or leave til i get there and hope they upgrade for free?
I'm confused. You've booked flights with car hire and won't be using the car hire. Yet then go on to say about booking car hire. What is wrong with paying the insurance for the car hire that is included.0 -
If you have a look at this map Clear Creek is community No28.
Sizzler and Golden Corral are cheap buffet restaurants also.

Hi it is usually as cheaper to take a complete seperate car hire package than to take the top up insurance also if every one getting off the flight is going to 1 car hire stand it can be a LOT quicker to use an alternative provider eg Hertz at Sandford pick you up and take you off site and so you've left the airport before those at dollar or alamo have been allocated.0 -

It's funny coz I own a villa at Glenbrook....and that map makes things look much further away than they are.....so looks like a representation, rather than a "to scale" map.
cheers

3 seems to be the minimum age.

I used this website last year for Disney tickets, seems to be the cheapest I have found this week. http://www.florida-magic-tickets.co.uk/#
They are e-tickets as apposed to hard tickets but it does mean that the money remains in your pocket rather than paying for your tickets too early.
You print out your ticket and take it to Guest Relations at one of the Disney parks and they will then give you your tickets.0 -
Other than this I believe ponderosa is cheap for food and some others do $5 dinner buffets (not sure whoich ones?)
Sweet Tomatoes on International Drive is a good, cheap lunch and dinner buffet. They serve more healthy things - salads, soups, pasta, jacket potatoes, muffins etc. You can eat as much as you like, and get free drinks refills too.0 -
Hi all
I've just about read throug this entire thread and would like to check on some prices just to see if there is any additional info I need..

Found a villa at clear creek nr disney for £259 per week, good area? 3 bed pool only two of us so big enough..
Also Thinking of argus for car hire through quidco £200 for 2 weeks fully insured, economy car or should i upgrade or leave til i get there and hope they upgrade for free?
Should I just get disney all park tickets for 2 weeks will this be enough or should i go for the 5 day orlando parks as well (wet n wild etc..) or buy these individually as and when required.
It all adds up! I reckon ball park figure £1200-£1300 per adult inc all the other things driving to airport and parking (parks also $10 day) etc.. buying disney tat from walmart etc..
Flight £541
Villa £518 plus £25 deposit (umming and arring over heated pool is this necessary?)
Car hire £200
Disney £150 each so £300
Petrol £50
Food £300
Parking £50
Other than this I believe ponderosa is cheap for food and some others do $5 dinner buffets (not sure whoich ones?)
Petrol about half price how many tanks?
Sorry about scatty post thinking out loud.. Just wondered if anything I've missed..
Thanks for any advice
Thought I'd try to help you a little. The price for flights seems good. But my experience is to book last minute WHEN possible. I'm talking within 2 weeks of departure. You usually get a very good price on airfare. Also, flying into Sanford is so much easier than OIA. Less of a hassle and MUCH less walking. The only difference is charter flights go to Sanford and the scheduled carriers go into OIA. With charter, you get less backage allowance. So if you plan on bringing things back it something to thing about. since you will be staying in a villa, I'd suggest flying out with as "lite' as possible. Since you'll have a washer/drye in the house, why load down your suitcase when you can wash whenever you please. Thus, this leaves you more weight for things to bring back.
Car rental: Try onairportcarhire.com They have good rates. You may want to thing about the next size up from an economy. Check the price on the website, sometimes a larger "class" car is cheaper than a lower one. Specials are run all the time And, DO NOT pay for an upgrade at the rental car counter. I used to work for Budget car rental at OIA, the counter staff make money(bonuses) from talking customers into upgrading. It's sales after all. And you will not get a free upgrade. The only time a free one is given, is if they are out of cars in the class you reserved. You are going out right after Thanksgiving, which is a little slower tourist wise. Trust me, they WON'T be out of cars.
Disney tickets: Really think about what you need and when you're going to the parks. It's expensive, and you don't want to leave any "tix' on the table, so to speak. Do your homework before you buy and you'll be fine.
Clear Creek: It's on US27 just right up from 192. Good area, Wal-Mart close by. Publix grocery store nearby. In my opinion, you WILL need pool heat that time off year. We were back there last year for Thanksgiving, and even to my English travel companions the pool was cold. I thought it was freezing cause I'm used to hot weather..LOL! Cool fronts will have already come through. So I'd say YES to pool heat. Also, if you haven't booked that villa, go on ebay.co.uk. Look for Orlando villas and you'll see lots for rental. They may or may not be cheaper. But for that time, a 3bdr house should be had for 200-250 pounds a week and you may be able to negotiate a price including pool heat. Just a thought.
Food: I'm not too familiar with any $5 buffets. For a good buffet, I'd go to Golden Corral. Also, there's Las Vegas Buffet on 192. Both about $9-$10/per person. Sizzler isn't bad either.
That it:-) Hope I've been some help to ya. I'm American and live in Orlando. But my girlfriend is English, and I spend alot of time in the UK. So I've made the england to sanford/orlando flight MANY times. Also, I've worked for the theme parks and know the area very, very well. So I thought I'd try to assist you. If you need anymore info, let me know. if you're there for 2 or so weeks, be sure to get out of Orlando a bit to see some other things. Whatever you do..have a wonderful time!0
