ok having searched for flights etc i have found a deal with travel city direct for 14 nights , car hire and accomodation for 2 adults and 2 children for £1870. does this sound a good price?
i would prefer BA flights but they seem to be that cost just for flights , no car or hotel.
is it worth prebooking seating or will they really let a two year old and a five year old sit on their own?
Thanks LLL0 -

What dates are you going?
Where are you going from?
What accommodation do you have?
What car does that include?
There is another thread where Savapenny is really good at sorting out great deals.
You need to take account that with TCD you have to pay extra for:- pre booked seats
- increased luggage allowance - I think it's a measly 17kg each
- Upgrade to car. Compact will be too small
- Upgrade car insurance - I think

Hi there,
Looking to go to Orlando with my girlfriend anytime in April next year. Wanting to stay on International Drive for 14 nights going from Manchester if possible.
Does anyone know what sites or travel agents are best to look at? I've tried a few sites but the trouble seems to be that when looking for two, we find a price but it turns out the price is based on four sharing and it shoots up!
How much should I be looking at paying? And finally, would you wait for late deals or isn't there much difference to Florida?
Many thanks,

Nick, Try Broadway Travel, my wife and I have used them three times and have always had a good deal. http://www.broadwaytravel.com/scripts/TDBkgEngine.dll/Startup?Now0

From a personal point of view, due to my traveling to Florida about 3 times a year, if you are going to travel charter then you will find it hard to beat https://www.mytravel.com especially if flying Airtours or Monarch - of course, I fly from Newcastle which makes it harder to find flights. I have actually given up with charter for a while because of their leg room and very expensive premium gold upgrade prices. I have just booked, directly on the United Airlines website, flights for 21 nights over the Christmas period flying from Heathrow to Fort Myers (via Dulles, with a heart stopping 2 hour aircraft change - be kind to us immigration - and be still my beating heart!) for a cost of £390 (BA Newcastle to Heathrow is £136 return for the two of us). That may sound a lot but when you compare it to charter flights it is actually not that much more plus, in our instance, we get to Fort Myers, which is 19 miles from our villa, instead of Sanford (our place is 230 miles SW of Sanford) where we then have a 4 to 5 hour journey. I usually find that if you book well in advance the scheduled flights can work out substantially cheaper than the charter. The Sanford flight, excluding premium gold, from Manchester covering the Christmas time frame we are going would have cost more for one ticket than we paid for the two with United! Also United have a great upgrade package available at the moment. For $299, for the year, not just one trip, they upgrade you to premium economy. There is no waiting in the queue with fingers crossed for this at the airport. You simply pay your $299, ring UA and they book the premium seating immediately - obviously it pays to check that all premium has not been taken before shelling out $299. If you then fly again with UA they will once again book you premium seating only this time at the time of booking because your premium status is then in place. I am not sure how many people this applies to - I know that the $299 definitely covers me and hubs but believe it covers all the people that are booked by the person who has made the $299 payment. Only one person has to pay the $299 and then the passengers on the booking form are also upgraded to premium. Work that into pounds and it is a genuine bargain. About £160. If you are flying on more than one UA aircraft or their partner companies, and if premium is available, this upgrade also applies to that aircraft. I think it's a excellent bargain considering charter charge £179 per person.
The major airlines are now beginning to compete with the online travel agencies and most also give a price promise now. I know that BA definitely do.
Hey Murph fancy you going to SW Florida in November - you sure about that? I think I have double booked the accommodation - hehehe!!
Cheerio all!
