If you book delata make sure that your holiday insurance will cover you in case the airline folds. It is in bankrupcy and close to the edge. Some insuarnce poilicies would not pay out if the airline stopped operating, so worth checking before you book.0

Thanks - we need to get from glasgoe - that's when the prices get really interesting ( read high ). Funny thing is they show a flight & hotel with BA via Manchester - but when I put Manchester as departure aiport it doesn't come up .. wierd. Manchester is easily driveable. Some of the flight durations are coming in at 17 hours.HLK

Have you looked at Globespan from Glasgow? Many people are now driving from the south to Glasgow for their cheap fares to Florida0

Edinburghlass - yes I did look there, I don't think they fly to orlando in the winter - when I do a search I just get the usual 2 stop KLM / 15-17 hour duration malarky. You'll know what I mean if you've tried looking from Scotland. Biggest rip-off going - seeing as trans-atlantic flight usually fly over the west coast.
Don't really want to spend 24 hours getting from a-b, once you add the travelling time and check-in time, with a child in tow. The best senario would be Continental but that's coming in around 1700 quid just for the flights.
Oh well..HLK

Hi HLK
Globespan DO fly Gla _ orlando for the time of year that you are looking for and if you can fly on the "cheapy" days, its no to bad at all. The dear days are a bit nasty however.
good luck.

Cheers Murphy. Sorry, I think I did check these a few days ago. Comes in at 1900 for the 3 of us 30 dec to 6 Jan - that's their latest flight before school goes back on the 9th Jan. They don't fly everyday unfortunately. It becomes a bit of a double whammy - schoolkids and flying from scotland. But Continental still looking cheapest with ebookers at £1671 for flights only...
edit - actually it looks cheaper if I were to book via the continental website - which also makes tickets refundable.. not sure if they are on ebookers. £1600 and I get a better pick of return flights.HLK

Poppy9 wrote:With TCD if I remember rightly you have to pay extra to pre book your seats. Don't bother if travelling with children as they have to sit by a parent.
I travelled from NY to orlando last Easter on a totally full flight. There were loads of children given seats away from their parents on check-in. There was chaos on board as the flight attendants tried to sort it out but they could only ask people if they would move seats - they couldn't enforce it.
Most people did move to allow children to be with one parent at least.0 -
Hi
we are off to Florida in November and would like some money saving advice for eating in the Disney theme parks/resorts as we are staying at Pop Century for 7 days and Port Orleans for 6 days.
Also has anyone treated their little princesses to the princess makeover, is it worth the money?:happylove
Thanks:T0
