    Hi
we are off to Florida in November and would like some money saving advice for eating in the Disney theme parks/resorts as we are staying at Pop Century for 7 days and Port Orleans for 6 days.
    Thanks:T

The DIS forum will give you lots of information on eating within DisneyWorld.

Also has anyone treated their little princesses to the princess makeover, is it worth the money?:happylove
    Thanks:T
I can certainly agree with jem16 over the disboards, I used it loads when planning our first trip and still enjoy reading the boards and especially people's trip reports.

Our first visit we stayed at Pop Century and found the food court there good. For breakfast we often shared a hot meal and added in a couple of slices of bread to put through the toaster. If you can get to a Wallmart and buy some bread there is nothing to stop you putting your own bread through the toaster though:)

Same at night, for instance the Caeser Salad was enough to feed two so we would split it. Eating onsite is not cheap compared to eating in lots of US restaurants and I remember being horrified at the price of a burger meal in McD's in Animal Kingdom  but sometimes you have to just thole the cost and take into account the fact that you are in a park and want to eat now!

I just read recently about the princess makeovers and being glad my little princess is 15 and beyond that stage. TBH CMs and people will make a fuss of any little girl dressed up no matter the cost, I know we always commented how lovely they looked when seeing a little girl dressed up.
  • Just did a search on the disboards and came up with this thread and I must say from seeing the face on the little girl in the video it looks well worth whatever it costs :)

This thread tells you a bit more about it and gives details of the various packages.

$45 for the Crown package and using your own costumes seems not bad at all as the crown and hair do in the video from the first link looks lovely.

I think though that my 15 year old going on 25 year old daughter would probably quite like the Pop Princess make over and would certainly think about it next visit :)
  • Thanks for those replys guys. I enjoyed watching the girls makeovers on youtube and may even be inspired myself to become a pop diva for the day!! I'm sure my daughter is gonna love it:T
  • Hi, I just came across https://www.bookit.com and found it to be very cheap for booking Disney resort hotels. The quote I had from BA holidays for the All Stars Hotel for 2 rooms/2 weeks was £1400. This website came to £988 - a big saving!! I just wondered if anyone knew of any pitfalls when booking like this - it is a US website and quotes are in dollars.
    Thanks
    Sandra
  • i wondered about walkie talkies for the grand children to use and for us to keep in touch as m/bs calls are so expensive, anyone used one around the parks?

  • My wife and I are thinking of taking a trip to Orlando in early December, at the moment it's just us two but we have asked our parents if they want to come so it could be 6 of us going. What will the weather be like then and where is the best place to go to get a cheap last minute deal on a villa? I'm guessing december is a really quiet time so how much should we expect to pay?
Nothing to see here, move along.

Go to https://www.thedibb.co.uk and in their forum, you'll find a section used by their villa owners..... Have a trawl through there - normally they do pretty good deals.

Yes, loads of people do, so try to get them with multiple channels. You can hire them on the park but they work out pricey, Walmart usually have a pair for around $15.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.
