Yes, This company would never dare go near a court. If you look at their website they break so many rules. They talk about "Civil Penalty Systems" and "Civil enforcement". As a private parking company they are not allowed to use such terms. By using those terms they are pretending to have some sort of official status, which they have not.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • Sorry i might be being a bit thick here but what do you mean by 'official status'?

They work according to the guidelines of the BPA....?

And if they are not allowed to use terms as such then why isnt anything done about it and why are these companies allowed to get away with it?

Official in the sense of actually having any powers.

The BPA is a trade organisation. Means nothing being a member, you just pay to join.

They get away with it because they prey on people who do not understand their rights and because their stuff looks "official"

They are just low life scum out to make a buck by scamming people out of their money

It might be more serious than that for the PPC. By using such words as "penalty" and "enforce" some people would argue that they are guilty of a breach of the Administration of Justice Act by pretending they have the same status and powers as the police or a council.

scotland2009 the letters you've had mean nothing, as everyone has said already.:)

This thread is only for posting examples of PPC letters - could you scan in or take pics of your letters, please, as we don't have the Car Parking Partnership scam letter-series on this thread. This will help other newbies who come here as nervous as you were, at first. Many thanks!

Please Board Guide, can all the non-example PPC letters posts be moved to a new thread?

NO MORE 'QUERIES' POSTS PLEASE EXCEPT PICS OF LETTERS FOR 1ST PAGE. PLEASE START A NEW THREAD IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT A PCN, THANKS (BUT BIG HINT, YOU'LL FIND THE ANSWER ALREADY REPEATED ON EVERY SINGLE OTHER THREAD IF IT'S A PRIVATE PCN!)

Choose any thread here (except those about Council PCNs) and you'll find the advice is to ignore:

    (sorry to shout)...
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • Sorry!!!!:)

The letters are not letter headed from the Car parking Partnership, they on the university letter head but from the CPP'c behalf.

Scanner is out of its uses at present otherwise would have posted them on.

    Sorry again

It's fine, I'm sure these posts will be cleared up onto a new thread.

If any passing teenager has a mobile phone do ask them to take close up pics and attach them to your reply here, even if it's not right now. Doesn't matter what the letter-head says, those letters ARE from the Car Parking Partnership!:)

Thanks if you do get around to posting them (minus your ID details/dates/refs of course).

Letters received from Debt Recovery Plus in the last 10 days

    a. invited me to declare that I was not the driver - I did, as I was not the driver.

    b. - issued before responding to my reply to letter a

    h t t p://i31.tinypic.com/kcm5qq.jpg

    c. (2 pages) - received today, repeats the invite for me to declare I was not the driver or to disclose the identity of the driver.

The paragraph quoting one "money saving expert" advisor on parking fines is an interesting departure from the other letters posted.
