I like that piece of sneaky gobbledegook:-

"You were the registered keeper at the time of the contravention. If there is any change in driver details, supply these details to G24"

In other words they are trying to trap you into telling them who the driver was.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

I was parked here legitimately, working in the store in question. Signed in for health and safety and no-one mentioned anything about being parked for too long. I just couldn't be bothered to go back to the store so I'm ignoring all letters as per advice.

    Hi,

I am a new user to the site and have been reading comments throughout the thread which have been very useful but would like some advice on whether they apply to my situation:

Myself and partner have recently both been slapped with a parking ticket for £90 by a private parking company called LDK Secruity Group, the note say's if we pay within 14 days it will be £60. We were dining out at a local resturant which is part of a hotel and we have eat there before and never recieved or known about parking permits. However, after speaking to the hotel, the owner of the (unused) building next door has recently got a company to patrol the car parking bays and the hotel actually only own 13 spaces (which we were not in any of them). I am not quite sure where I stand on this issue and I was going to appeal but after reading this forum it sounds like the best option for me to do is ignore the ticket? In the appeals paragraph on the back of the ticket it states:

"on appealing you must supply evidence as to why you were parked in violation of the parking terms and conditions as displayed on the contractual warning signs"

After reading some comments I think the statement 'contractual' gives us some case to argue?!

I am worried though as it also says:

"Failure to pay the fine will result in your vehicle licensing details being obtained from the DVLA and a formal demand and your details will be passed onto our debt collecting agency, this will further increase the amount, in addition court action may be taken against you and court costs and baliff costs may be added, in the final stages the court may instruct a baliff to remove and sell your goods to pay for the costs"

Any comments would be greatly appreciated as I really could do without having to pay this fine?

    Thanks

You would be better starting your own thread on the subject, but as you have posted here...

Ignore any and all letters from the above company and their debt collectors.

You have not received any sort of fine, you have an unenforceable invoice.

Janey_10, read all the other new threads here:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

And if you are still in doubt after reading everyone else's case, where they all receive letters just like yours, then post your own thread.

And we'll reassure you again, to ignore the ticket and the letters, ad infinitum. :D

Back on topic, a pepipoo thread here:

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=53358

now reports that Controlled Parking Solutions are using a new collections agency, Daniels Silverman (Warham Collections Team):

We have been instructed by our above named client to recover the above outstanding debt. We now demand immediate repayment of (close to £200). Unless full payment is sent directly to us within seven (7) days we will take final recovery action through the courts which may lead to:-

-Judgement being awarded against you in Court
-Debt details being registered affecting your ability to obtain credit in future
    -Bailiffs calling at your premises.

YOU NOW HAVE SEVEN DAYS TO REPAY IN FULL. ACTION WILL BE TAKEN AGAINST YOU THROUGH THE COURTS IF YOU FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THIS DEMAND.

PAY ONLINE AT WWW.DANIELSSILVERMAN.CO.UK OR SEND CHEQUE PAYABLE TO DANIELS SILVERMAN LIMITED WITH THE TEAR OFF SLIP BELOW.

    Yours Faithfully,
    Warham Collections Team

    END QUOTE

:T Good try, CPS, got fed up with your other letters being ignored then?! What are you going to do when people ignore that one as well?

  • Hi, I am new to this forum and joined as I have just received a parking ticket from a private company... you have letters from UKPC, is this the same company as UKCPS Ltd. I am concerned about this. I have checked out their website and will admit to being slightly confused on this matter, as most of the forums regarding these parking firms say dont pay and yet my friends are saying to pay them because they have had them previously. Could you clarify the best course of action that I should take please?

    Make a choice.
Listen to your friends who have paid or read on here to find out what happens to those that do not pay.
There is a large number of posters on here all saying the same thing.

You could ask your friends on what legal basis they thought they were liable and then compare that to the posts on here that explain the actual legal position.
